Lies. World sports have always served as a unification, even during times of war. Berlin hosted the Olympics right before the start of double ya double ya two. You expect us to believe that "rising tensions" between the US and China lead the downfall of the World Cup and the Olympics? Please :stongue: You GOT to do better than that bero. |
I expected criticism.
First, a few things. A quick History lesson. I expected your generation to know more about the 20th century, but I guess I was wrong.
Look up "Appeasement of Adolf Hitler". You will see that most countries allowed Hitler to do absolutely everything (Annex the Sudetenland, invade the Rhineland, etc.) The most disrespect to Hitler would not be to denounce his invasions, but to protest (Not attend) the Olympics which Hitler was hosting. Politics played a good role in this, and politics of the 1930's isn't the same as politics in the 21st century.
Remember the 1980 Olympics. The United States did not attend that because of the Soviet Union's invasion of Afghanistan. There will be several parallels which you should keep an eye on. I'd suggest you stay tuned and not let your lack of historical knowledge cloud your judgment.
The straw that breaks the camel's back, per say, will be the annexation of Taiwan. This is more symbolic rather than strategic as the Chinese surpass the United States as the strongest economic and military power. This will have similarities with the Cold War era, except it will be multi-polar, rather than bi-polar. Expect China and Russia to have a significant role within American and European (Union) foreign policy for years to come. |

So what kind of drugs do kids in 2049 like to get off on? Will marijuana ever be legalized? Do Republicans still hail Reagan as the best president of the 20th Century?
BTW, should have time traveled back to 1999 and gone to a rave there. All your questions would have been answered in one night. |
The bi-partisan political arena collapses after 2016. The war on drugs is abandoned. I chose 2008 because this is a significant time in Global history. I can only do this once, as this program is quite expensive (Worth 5 credits!). I guess you could compare this course to internships in which on-hand experience is the course material. |

| So who wins the presidency this election? Does all that stuff happen because we have a black guy in office? Do we need Morgan Freeman? He isn't dead is he? Why would you come to the past to ask questions? Seems a little silly. |

This is too specific. I'd hate to say who wins and have my answer change your vote in November.
I will say that Obama is up for some controversy. The accusations will be false, and Obama will use this to boost his popularity. |
