i don't fly, i merely forecast for planes. and those tiny little cessnas can't manage a lot of turbulence and various levels of icing like a B-52 Stratofortress can :D

just cause the startofortress can weather a 500mph storm, doesnt make it better than those other planes. they all have their strenths and weaknesses. they all have different purposes.

:D they're fun for random clear sky flying. but if you need to go somewhere, and there's a thunderstorm, yur kinda f'd in the a :)

of course, it uses wayyyyyy less fuel than anything else. lol

lol you pressurize a planes cabin and you can fly ABOVE the storm...so no need to fly into it. ;)

lol, and then you get above the storm and get shot from below by an overshooting cloudtop....flipping the plane upside down and sending it spiraling into the storm itself.

not cool, imo:p

edit: and while where at it, what are the chances of an airplane getting owned by these " overshooting cloudtops"?

basically when a thunderstorm is so strong, that the updraft penetrates through the cloud top....shooting a piece of the cloud further up into the sky than the rest of the storm.

good indication of severe hail.
