I've taught meteorology, instructed on light and commuter aircraft and full motion simulators. I currently fly transport category jets throughout North American and the Caribbean. I love how you reference some pilots as being "stupidass". Yet you're the one on here carrying on about things you clearly have a very limited knowledge of. Carry on though, most here will never know the difference, and you can be a hero in your own eyes.

Umm, you're obviously just trying to pick a fight. If you read CLEARLY, you can see that will is just saying you can get SOME guys who think they are invincible just because they have an PPC.

Will works around aircraft full time, as do you. But he's constantly dealing with weather situations for aircraft rather than merely getting up to cruise level and wacking on the autopilot.

I guess being a pilot would disqualify me somehow as working around aircraft full time? You've got a terribly myopic view of what a real professional pilot does if you think it's just up to FL410 and monitor the autopilot.

biznology: You're the first person I've ever met that has used the defense of working for the government as qualifying someone as not stupid. Is everyone else wrong?

Does your job involve you constantly getting amateur pilots out of trouble when it comes to weather?

And i thank you.

No my job involves me constantly keeping myself out of trouble with weather. That said I've instructed people on large planes weather avoidance and recovery techniques, in addition to actually teaching meteorology also.

You should search the airbus tail strike certification videos. It's pretty crazy to watch them grind the tail of the plane into the ground so they can determine and then certify the minimum unstick speed.

agility enables recovery. no agility means the plane is doomed.

Pilots suck. But planes are cool.

I hope to get me one of these one day instead of a 2nd house or expensive car:

Cirrus SR22 Turbo ($400k new)

I hate Cirrus airplanes. Several reasons, namely being that I think they are over-priced, way too ing popular, and have no soul.
