if you listen to UNKLE's style i can see why he would get booed off, it was a wrong timeslot and inappropriate booking, most productions are deeptech, dub, ambient.

As genius as Lavelle is production wise, I've heard countless stories of his unprofessionalism as a performing DJ.
I recall many saying his performance was similar when he played Guv a few years back (forget which party exactly).

i guess i could see that..
reminds me of james holden, brilliant but when he plays live, music is weird as , clears the dance floors (although last time platform brought him in he was sick).

edit: when you say "unprofessionalism as a performing DJ" what do you mean by that? mixing?

[surprise] Mauro Picotto [/surprise] at Guv, either before or after Chris Liebing (who was awesome) back in... '04?

Mark Oliver's had me running for the door a couple of times, but he's made up for it other times as well.

I've never liked a single AvB set in Toronto. When I go out to a trance event, I want to hear some trance, not a never-ending cycle of build-ups and breakdowns.

Astral Projection at Guv in '05 or '06... can't remember exactly.

And I have to take a moment to point out that Infected Mushroom aren't THAT bad... The first time you see them. But since they play the same 20 tracks for every single performance they do, it definitely gets tiring.

IM is bad because they moved away from their psy trance roots to some garbage commercial electro crap

Shrug, haven't seen them in years, didn't know that.

But hey, at least they're better than Picotto.

ya, I saw James Lavelle at the Social a year or two ago. He def. is not an impressive DJ. I was really disappointed. I guess it just wasn't what I expected. His live sound actually was better suited to the hipster, Queen W crowd. I guess the Social was a good choice for the venue. I just didn't get his taste in tracks. It was just bad music in my opinion.

I don't want to say what the worst Dj set I ever saw was. lol I really like the DJ now, he totally proved that he's capable of amazing sets since then. But the first time I saw him, he trainwrecked so badly, I left the club.

I forgot about ATB!!! lol, god he's just BAD.

lol. not to bump some old posts but don't talk to me about lafleche. that guy has been ruining the scene in montreal for years before that. every massive party, started or finished with this guy. horrible. lol. my entire start to EDM was tainted by lafleche.
Silky Johnson
Oh yeah, holy crap does LaFleche ever suck.

I looked through the thread and was surprised I didn't say anything about Creamer at the Docks in 06? 07? That was .

StereoPrincess
lol. we used to call him lafelch.

Unprofessionalism (in this case) - putting his desire to get ed up beyond belief ahead of putting on a good show.
