| Wow shocking another flame war of macs vs pcs on TA didn't we just have one of these like last week. FFS people some people like Mac's some like PC's theres different reasons why people each like them so just get used to it and chill out. |

| I was simply correcting some inconsistencies in the belief that macs are somehow brilliant in avoiding viruses. I realize that macs have their ups, it is base upon use preference. But that doesn't change the fact that a dedicated coder can write a virus for a mac as easily as for a pc. |

Any computer system is vulnerable to an attack its simply a matter of human error when coding any operating system. I personally find the makes less likely to get infected. Look at some of the comparisons between a mac and a PC being put on the internet and how quickly each contracts malware, adware, spyware, virus etc. This has a large part to do with penetration of windows over OS X in the world market. I do find that Vista is crap compared to OS X though it just doesn't work very well and always seems to be working much too hard and putting way to great a strain on the computer itself.
XP and OS X are both good operating systems if configured properly. I do find that their is more maintance on XP than on OS X simply because I have to be more cautious about updating my anti-virus software adware blocker etc.
My Mac's have always just worked. My PC's have worked well but always have a few nagging problems. I use them both and use them differently.
The thing is neither one does everything and neither one is perfect. |

Waste of time, something i shouldnt be doing by having to spend more time getting it to work the way it should and spending money on applications that make it work the way you expect it to. Windows should come with an anti-virus out of the box.
Taking care of it means going out of your way; i do not have time for this. |

Apple said the new core 2 duo's would run cooler, i sit beside a vaccuum cleaner when i use this thing, hooray for no bottom vents ! |

that's fine. Apple will happily take your extra money and do all that for you. For the rest of us who'd rather do a little research and save that extra 1.5G's in cash, there's the good old PC. |

mac owners over pay by 1.5k just so that apple will take care of it all?
1) theres very little apple needs to take care of
2) since when are macs $1,500 more than a PC with the same configuration? you must be trying real hard right now. |

most mac users agree, dont worry, steve jobs is quite an idiot at times and it doesnt take a mac hater to point it out. |

| I don't know where your getting that 1,500 figure from either. I personally find the Macbook and Macbook Pro to be both very well built solid computers. IMO Mac makes some of the better laptops out there in terms of overall features. I think that they really went in a wrong direction with the Air though. Its just not appealing to most users. I think you will see the price come down a fair amount fairly quickly after the initial sparkle wears off. The thing I love about my powerbook is the multiple jacks on it firewire 400, 800 and usb 2.0. Its makes it great for hooking up other devices to it. I also like how they are arranged around the computer something that my dell really fell flat on. In addition the new mag safe power adapter is a great idea. |
