(not only keep quiet, but look the other way cause our talking about it here is the reason the place gets shut down...not the rampant drug use, not the untimely death of a young man, but the fact we are talking about it - this is the twisted / selfish perspective these people have)

Lets not discuss it because we're offending people. Never mind that there might be some valuable lessons that other people might learn. Never mind that someone out there might actually see this and think...hey, maybe I need to reevaluate the path I'm on.

Selfish pricks abound on this forum, and it's frightening to think what would happen if they had the rule of this place.

OK honestly, I see your point. this is a serious topic that completely encompasses our scene! It should be discussed,, as I said the police used it for a completely valid reason.

But like I said A LOT of people know Andy and the cause.... seriousness of DRUGS! Thanx.

It's sad. AND I never said the topic based on drugs wasn't irrelevant..... I feel the picture SUX and especially for those who know him and feel the loss.

So be a bit sensitive !

Perhaps then you should voice these sentiments to

http://www.insidetoronto.com

They selected that picture and chose to run it. It's been viewed by more people through their site then TA. If you think it's inappropriate, you should let them know. (I did).

There's nothing insensitive in the intention of this thread...what does seem insensitive to me is the motives of some of his so called 'friends' and the need to suppress the details of this incident. My question is why? Isn't the truth supposed to set them free...or have they lived and operated so long in the dark that they feel this incident should be relegated to the shadows as well?

My sympathies goes out to the family of the young man, but I can't help but feel that his mother and sister would want other young people who are involved in the scene to take lessons from the mans life and death and not just brush it off by claiming it's too upsetting to look at a photo, or read about the truth.

however... just because a subject hits close to home for someone doesnt mean it should be deleted. if that was the case then almost every thread would get deleted. people will always talk whether it is good or bad. its up to us to learn how to deal with it or ignore it.

Someone who truly gets it. Well said...

Talk about it all you want, it is my duty to recognize the fact that the statement of "his friends giving him blow" is a rumour!

And the fact that you mention 'his so called friends" making the details suppressed makes me laugh....

Again where is the police statement. I'm acknowledging the fact that these details are 'he said she said bull.'

Talk about how unfortunate this death is and all should learn that its ing possible, not how his friends gave him coke to straighten up.

Where r u going with this??

I never said a thing about his friends giving him coke...you need to read this thread and in particular what I said carefully. As far as suppressing the truth...well, look around. The threads made regarding the incident have been deleted. There is a good chance some of the people who have objections with the photo (of all things) are going to ask for this thread to be deleted....and my question is why?

When CZ gets busted more then a few long standing members said something to this effect

Don't talk about it here...talking about it here is what got the place busted.

What they didn't say was:

One of us died tragically as a result of overdose. His name was Andy. He died at a place quite a few of us frequent, that quite a few of us love to the point of lunacy. Lets all respect his families wishes at this difficult time. Lets show some compassion while the media works itself into a frenzy like it usually does.

No...what was said is that sites like TOTA, and facebook groups have brought the spotlight on CZ (like the cops have been twiddling their thumbs for the last 10 years). These 'friends' (if you really want to stretch the limits of that term) wanted people to keep quiet because they were more worried about the future of CZ then they are about other clubbers (and why shouldn't they? Some of them have jobs at these clubs. They have a vested interest in seeing the place doesn't shut down, that it doesn't get bad press, it's in their interest to do PR work now that the truth has come out). It's in their best interest to keep a lid on things that happen at places like CZ (not the interest of the clubbing community, and certainly not the interest of the family of Andrew Fazio and his mother who made the complaint that lead to the raids) That's what I meant by suppressing information.

I am offended that these hypocrites have the nerve to stand up and blabber about sentiment when it's clearly obvious from their track record here that they don't know the meaning of the word. Don't believe me...scan this thread and pick apart the people who have a problem with the photo. Then look back and see just how positive their (selfishly motivated) contributions to this forum has been over the last 5-6 years.

People will use this tragedy for their own purposes. Some of them will sensationalize it (newspaper, cops), others will glorify it (hardcore club nuts), some will learn from it, and others...well others will feign like they care and just sweep the whole thing under the rug so they can get back to the originally scheduled program: drugs, beats and darkness.

For those who observe more then they talk, you'll see this holds true if you continue to monitor this forum for the next few weeks.

I think those who decided to place this photo next to that stuff had good intentions, and i'm sure this will induce many thoughts/emotions to surface in people, as it did in myself. That being said, is momentary reflection of one person's tragedy enough to defer others from a particular lifestyle they've adopted (such as, for example occasional recreational drug use at cz)? Sadly, I doubt it. The truth is, asides from immediate, and, unfortunately temporary feelings of sorrow and empathy, I dont think it will stop anyone who is going to use drugs from doing so in the long run, and thus is futile. In highschool, I remember a boy passing away from alcohol poisoning due to drinking too much one night....a month later his friends were out getting smashed as usual....the problem is....everyone is upset by the situation but no one thinks this will happen to them.

Holy , Kytracid, I agree with every single post of yours in this thread 100%. Wow, .

if Andy Would have stayed at the zone that day, he would still be alive!
a place like zone MUST exist in Toronto. People will not stop doing drugs, but at least now they are all under the same roof and are being taken care of whenever happens. There are bouncers, other people to help or call the ambulance at least.

While there were a few calls to close that thread, I think most of the posts were slamming people talking about CZ were directed at recent posts in the last few months by certain members glorifying drug usage, drug dealing and staying at CZ for an excessive amount of hours.

Also, just to be clear, Andy did not die at CZ. He died at an afterparty due to drugs that were allegedly bought at CZ.

HOW DO YOU KNOW THEY WERE BOUGHT AT THE ZONE? DID POLICE FIND A RECEIPT ON HIM?
