not anymore, BUT I know exactly what you mean!
when I went home in January, my best clothes from here, was barely casual at home :( I swear, girls are born with make-up and heels on
they're also ridiculously tall and fit
so not only I felt fat and short, I was under dressed too :(

Sorry, but I have to say, that I've seen plenty of girls who dress up as if they are in eastern europe here downtown, and I have to say they can be spotted a mile away, look fresh off the boat, and I laugh at them in my mind. If you separate your clothes, then great... but you can't mix gold and fur with neon over here. Whenever I travel, I do as the romans do (except for wearing a speedo or banana hammock on european beaches, I just can't make myself do it, I'd rather go nude honestly), you don't want a visit turn sour with fingerpoint giggles.

sadly, Ukie land has finally caught up with that stupid fashion, I noticed a few girls wearing those
quite surprising though, because Eastern European girls adore sky high heels

they have no clue they're a laughing stock tbh :) they probably ARE fresh from the boat, or come from a very "cultural" family, they probably even live in all-Eastern-European areas
things I see at the Russian store by my work... oh boy! ladies come in wearing full length fur coats, full make up and out-of-salon hair

Abercrombie sweats go great with any legs.

Uggs were a great 2006 fashion.

Damn! 6 feet! Thats hot

And uggs... I dont get it. Maybe its the "I come from a place with real winters" in me, but I dont get it.

I asked my roommate why she wears them (and they arent just Uggs but PINK UGGS, super barf) and she said because they are warm. Yet every time she comes home she complains about how wet her feet are.

Damn it ladies, this is Canada! Wear real winter boots.

Uggs were made popular in Australia and LA first for a reason... they are not meant for snow.

And to go along with my I hate uggs rant. I dont know everyone else sees the same thing but I feel that 50% of Ryerson girls all wear the same matching aritzia jackets, the TNA bag and Uggs. Soooo orginal.

You ain't cool unless you have a TNA jacket, wear Lululemon pants and have a pair of Uggs on. Add in a cheap Coach clutch and Prada shades and your set for the evening!

Woohoo

I can tell you never grew up in the city, like me...I think the same way but now I've become accustomed to the other norm of always being dressed a bit, but then when I go out locally i.e. restaurants, mall, even the bars around here I get "whoa? whats the occasion?" "just come from work?" and so on.

I find downtown people, they try wayyy to ing hard, especially our generation...nothing wrong with dressing trendy or nice, but some think they are on a runway..guys included which is usually a bigger laugh

I don't understand what is wrong with dressing nicely. Is your complaint stemming from the fact that you feel insecure in what you are wearing while walking around the city?

hahaha its on! I hope you do show me that there are some toronto girls with grrrrrrrrrrreat personalities

But yes I did make a huge generalization. But like all cities, Toronto has its own culture and the people who live in the city do have similar traits. Toronto is a very fast city, and I find that Toronto girls have a hard time just relaxing and being down-to-earth. Toronto is full of brand names and fashion; and toronto girls are more superficial than girls from small cities. Toronto is full of diversity, and Toronto girls desperately try to seek out for attention. I have yet to figure out why I have a hard time having an intelligent conversation with toronto girls. And I think because toronto girls spend so much energy trying to stand out physically, they become plain on the inside.
I can admit that Toronto has changed me as well. At first I tried to keep up with Toronto and fit in with the Toronto girls. But after some growing up, I realized I was happier being me than being another Toronto girl.
And I am sorry if I offend any girls with my generalization. It’s just something I noticed since I moved here.
I do think that all girls in today’s society are becoming increasingly plain on the inside. It seems to be the new trend in society. However this trend is definitely magnified in Toronto.
/rant.

I'm sorry, but you cannot possibly generalize this broadly. What exactly constitutes "Toronto girls"? How do you know that based on the girls that you come in contact with, you can make an accurate generalization on all the girls in Toronto? I'm assuming the girls that you come in contact with are a) from your place of work b) from the club scene, and maybe some other social circles. What about all the infinite number of social circles that you are not apart of or do not have contact with such as religious groups, special interest groups, ethnic groups, age groups, etc? If the category "Toronto girls" had a fairly homogenous population, then perhaps maybe you could make these generalizations. However, this is clearly not the case.
