^^^Agreed, but I still almost always tip. I appreciate the service and loose change is loose change. The jobs are and not that bloody highly paid.
Also, it's my culture to tip well anyway and combine that with working in hospitality means I tip quite damn well. Having said that though, you will never ever get a tip from me if the service is bad. That's just stupid. |
I kind of agree, but I think that gratuitous tipping is stupid.
I go to a restaurant expecting good service. Surely, anyone does?
If the service is good, then I'm happy. I'll tell my friends that I was happy. I'll go back there to eat again, because I was happy.
But, I'll only tip if it was well above what I expected. |

So are you saying that most delivery/bar/wait staff in Australia are paid the minimum wage? What is it in Australia? Just wondering, not arguing. I would love to have good service with no need to tip but I guess in some places it just wouldn't happen. |
I'm not totally sure what the minimum wage is. Dependant on age, about 15'ish an hour? Someone correct me? |

Just got a part time job delivering for Pizza Hut. Times are rough, I need the upfront extra cash.
Anyways...so far I've delivered to about 5 "colored" people...none of them tipped.
I'M JUST SAYING.
btw, I'm never ordering pizza again after seeing the ingredients/dishes go through. |

In hospitality it's $17 minimum.
I'm on $19.50 though since I'm grade 3 and since I do weekends mostly, it's $22 on Sat and $27.30 on Sun :D , no way in hell a student could rake in more money than that in a casual job!
Oh , I just made it less necessary to tip now didn't I? :p
I see your point Sushi and agree with it, but I still tip more often than not. It's just the way I am and actually guarantees me even better service the next time I come back, proven time and time again  |

| A couple of times I've made abput $150-$200 worth of cocktails and shots in one order, and the bastards even took the 5c pieces back as change. I mean ffs, people like that should be shot. On the spot, double barrel shotgun, BAM! Unnatural but necessary tard selection (ie elimination). |

Hehe, yeah, I'll quite often tip at the bar, unless the guy/girl is a retard. I've tended bar before, I know how it works with quicker service 'next round' :p |
