The only domestic non microbrew I have bought by the bottle is Yuengling... but I'll get a Bud Light for $1 happy hour. I'm cheap. :p

I mean really, you might as well just pour water into a cup if they ask for a Bud.

Agreed. The only reason I would ever drink Bud is if a) I want to drink without getting even remotely close to drunk or b) I have no choice because the person's house/place I'm at has nothing else.

Other than that... import ftw. I'm all about a good Lambic. I love Mort Subite :D

Domestic is kinda funny because there are some greatly respectable small brewers. Brooklyn Brewery producing outstanding beer but the only problem is that its hard to find in NYC alone unless you go straight to the brewery.

But thats the thing I tend to like about beer. So many choices out there so that when you feel adventurous, you can dive in and who knows what you'll find.

very true. unfortunately there are too many people out there that are like OMG 30 CANS OF BUSCH FOR $5 SWEET and it just makes me wanna vomit. i mean seriously, are you that ridiculously poor that you can't spend $8 on a six pack of something GOOD?!?!?!? lol

i just spent 17 bucks on a six pack of stone ruination ipa last week...(partially on accident)

but i would gladly buy multiple cases of busch 30 pks if they were only 5 bucks...it is one of the better ty beers. and yes such a distinction exists. i would rather drink busch or pbr than becks tbh|

to me it goes like this:

bud light > coors > miller (anything) > busch > natty light

but i still think they all suck and would rather pay $8 to get a six pack of guinness

I drink 'em all, really. I'm an equal opportunist drunk.

Right, Melissa?

Yep, that's about spot on. Depends upon the crowd though. If I'm just looking to get plastered, I'll start off with a sam adams or something similar... depending upon the selection. A few beers in, i don't mind the cheaper drinks. For the most part, I prefer to pay more for a better quality beer. Bud... ugh.

I was at a bar a few months ago (I live in new york city) and in buying rounds, some guy actually bought cans of keystone. CANs of KEYSTONE. At a decent manhattan bar! I was as much surprised that they sold that trash as much as that I would find it in front of me, 5 years out of being a college freshman.

I think I just left it there or gave it away...

miller > coors > bud - but those are all in the same category.
(miller doesnt use rice, which makes it the best tasting marginal beer imo)

busch, pbr , et al are in a lower one, but natty light is in a lower, undrinkable, metal-shards-tasting category.

and a six pack of guiness means bottles, if you need to be classy you need to get the four or eight packs. nitro ftw! (guiness is just another beer otherwise, and guiness shouldnt even be beer!) its in a class of its own.

i am spoiled with micro's around here, but sometimes you need something that doesnt require introspective enjoyment. my main pet peeve are the heineys and rolling rocks and becks that eek out a middle ground between questionable domestics and decent craft beers. they rely more on brand image than the buds and coors, but rarely deliver on taste|
