Heineken is locally brewed here now too. Not as good as the Dutch stuff - It misses out the 'sweet' sort of after taste, due to the (apparent, lol) fact that Australians prefer a more 'bitter' tasting beer :wtf:

Not sure about the differences with Stella, as I don't buy it. Leaves me with a killer hangover, even after just a few :conf:

the only thing good about budwiser is that its consistent. no matter what country you have it in it tastes the same. Unfortunately for it it consistently tastes like watered down piss designed for 14 year olds who can't handle real beer.

The only good things that have come from budweiser are the commercials.

Heineken, my favourite beer ;)

You know what the good thing is though? The locally brewed one is worse than the Dutch one, but it's still damn good. I wish it was imported though as the Heineken made in the Netherlands is awesome. As you said, the local one is less sweet which is a shame.

Hence why I make sure to point out to people not to judge Heineken too much until they go to Europe and try the real thing. I might buy a pallet of it this summer and ship it back to Sydney :haha:

most if not all of the heineken in asia and north america is imported. When they signed distribution rights with the local breweries under contract to deliver this clause to never brew abroad was insisted upon. I guess oz is just too far to ship at a respectable profit margin. I could remember emptying freight containers back in the day of the stuff. If a case had one broken bottle it had to be trashed. Trashed meant in the trunk of my car.

<3 heineken.

I (luckily) don't know about beer in America, but I once had the misfortune of having to drink Foster's. What an undrinkable piss that is.
Seriously people, if you want quality, buy German beer!

Lol. Most of the time I drink Heineken too (Yay for discounts at my local!), but I'm aware (as you should be!) that's it's really not that good.

If you pick your bottle shops right, you can still get the imported stuff.

And you won't be importing all mate :p Not without an importing/liquor license anyway :p

Your director looked at you in disbelief because Budweiser is a terrible beer. Is that so hard to believe?
