I think he means it's in a period of...(can't think of the word) being "still". There's been no new genres emergering/being invented. Nothing is moving forward nor backward. It's just a steady calm.

On another note, I remember a thread about music soon being a bunch of sounds/samples from other tunes to create new whole ones. I think this is the future. Maybe not the near future, but it'll happen none the less.

Genres of ALL types of music - rock, jazz, polka, all coming into one to create some really twisted experiemental .

hmmmm, I did not get that from his post but if that's what he means then I would agree that it is at a stand still. To say though that their is absolutely nothing of value coming out right now though would be ignorant imo.

Polka-hard-house-jazzcore-trance!

Nah, sampling artists have been at it for years. DJ Spooky has a posse, but he's not going to storm the mainroom.

all i have to say about italo is: Neo-Italo!

Alden Tyrell- "Hills of Honolulu"

Bangkok Impakt- "The Pianist and the Reporter"

This stuff was produced a lot in 2002, labels like Clone and Creme organization were getting big. I personally ing love the sound. Its full of passion and these legowelt tracks have also an epic kinda goth feel. I want to listen to this in a club, i thing that it would be great if that sound went BIG, but it wont...unfortunately (well, it didn't back in 2002-2004 when it was big).

Not enough hooks and not enough vocals.

I love Disco Rout, but for different reasons than Italo.

very nice.. sounds like the early 80's italo stuff like Charlie, the flirts (bobby orlando), visage etc.. some cowley semblance too.

alot of splendid ideas to take from

for instance listen to the first 30 seconds of this song from 85

alessandro zanni and his clever ideas :)

Well, thats not true, that sound was full of hooks and vocals, its just that from a few samples it is difficult to judge. I especialy liked the vocals found in a few legowelt tracks, they had this 80s a-la sisters of mercy gothic style which suited their music, it makes you want to put your shades and dance to the sound! (at times they had some amazing female ones as well, they had nothing to do with poppy trance-diva vocals though they were really awesome) I don't know how familiar you are with these, but i tell you , if you like "Disco Rout" you gonna love everything done by legowelt. "Disco Rout" is a good tune, but you have to listen to some other tracks to understand the power (lol). Back in that era they used to produce lots of EPs and stuff and they even released an album. Go find it, download it or something. Its really amazing.

yeah! This is good, i like the sexy vocals with the accent lol. The music sounds like the Alden Tyrell samples i posted, now i know who he ripped-off heh. I like early-80s italo but i only know of Giorgio Moroder, Alexander Robotnick and Gazebo. I like these but i'm gonna dig your current reccomendations as well thanks!
