Ever since this roll call was made, I have been thinking about how I would love to host this dinner in my backyard... |
Guys, PLEASE. Brainstorming session is over. We're trying to narrow down the options now, OK?

Based on the responses so far, I think that Zam (near Kipling) is going to be the best location. It's possible to bus it, or you can hitch a ride with someone from Kipling station.
Any objections?
Miki - think we should wait until, say, 2 weeks before to make the reservation? And can you check what kind of parking they've got?
As for timing, like RJ, I prefer earlier. I'd really like to make this at 6 PM or 6:30 at the latest. I realize that some people may not be able to make it that early, but we're probably going to be there for a while, so I'm sure it's OK if some people show up at 7 or 7:30. They're not going to run out of food. However, I really have no idea what people's schedules are, so before we lock down the time, can I get an idea of how early (after 6) everyone thinks they can make it?
Finally, this means I'll be cruising down the 427, which is at the opposite end of the city from AJ. If there are people on the west end who can get reasonably close, you're welcome to hop on board. And since it appears to be only a 5-minute drive from Zam I'm sure I could grab a few from Kipling station as well. |

| I would be leaving from Yonge/Eglinton.... and could give a ride to a couple people if needed. |

| 6 sounds disgustingly early... but I'll show up whenever AJ wants to go :p |

Lesson #1 of event planning: People always show up late.
Even if everybody showed up at 6 on the dot, cevaps are quick to prepare but it'll still take a while for 20 or 30 people. Very unlikely we'd actually be eating until 6:30 or even 7. Especially with freaky vegetarians who are going to need to spend 20 minutes fussing over the menu.
If we wait until 7 then it'll probably be 7:30 or 8 before we really get to eat, which is pretty late.
Some people may be trying to plan their night around a club, in which case I can understand the desired lateness, but many of us will probably have other plans, like an hour-long drive home followed by sleep. Timing should be dictated by hunger and how early people can arrive, not by how late they want to stay out - it's easier to kill time than it is to recover it. :p
We'll see how it goes though. 6:00 - 6:30 is only my strongly-worded suggestion. |

I am signing up...
Six p.m. at Zam's works fine for me. I'd also prefer an earlier (rather than later) time. Six seems ideal.
Digi and everyone else, thanks for the great help!! We're gonna make this happen... :gsmile: |
