awesome thread
Astronaut
I have lucid dreams sometimes, well at least I know sometimes that i'm dreaming. I used to have nightmares often when i was younger - like 3 or 4 times a week & I was afraid of going to sleep cause I knew I would have nightmare. But one day (night) I realized that I was dreaming, I decided to stop the nightmare myself. I was in a room where freaky thinkgs happend to me & I jumped out of the window to wake up. I did it because I knew that I couldn't die in my dream & you wake up before it would happen.
So thats how I controled my dream.

so let me get this straight. i know that we dream every night. so is it that those dreams are always very realistic, but most of the time we forget them and even more often we don't know that we're dreaming?

p.s. hey astronaut, nice custom status!

Lucid dreams re great.. i ve had lucid dreams since 98-99

But Out of Body Experiences (OBE) are what give me more curiosity.. i have a friend that swears that he had those experiences.. when he knows he is awake and his soul leaves his body,...

I ve never had anything like that besides some "paralysis" that has happened to me only 3 times in my life, all of them when i was under extreme lack of sleep circunstances..

I was going to bed, then fell asleep very fast.. but it wasnt a normal dream.. i heard LOUD noises around me, and felt like i was in a russian mountain... then i woke up (opened my eyes) and continued listening to that noise.. i tried to move but i couldnt.. i knew i was awake, i had my eyes open, i could see my desk and the window...

After I realized I couldnt move, I tried to scream.. but I couldn't scream neither.

Then, after a few moments (seconds?) i could move and speak again...

I rushed to my PC and searched the net for weird stuff like that.. I found out that what happened was that my body thought i was still sleeping, and that the mechanism that stops me from moving/speaking in real life when I move/speak in a dream was still on...

Anyone has experienced something like this?

once I woke up strangely early and I was paralised, wanted to move myself but I couldn't, it was scaring as hell, trust me, because in the previous day I had seen a tv program about alien contacts when someone was paralised just like me but saw an alien in his room (I don't remember seing anything, I guess I was too scared to try to move my eyes).

I experienced something very awsome myself dunno what it is called.

I experienced the trasition between awake and fall asleep, sounds really impossible but i had it once in my life.
How many times did u think about "I wanna feel when I'm going into a sleep."
Well it was awsome, I hope it will happen again someday.
That night I was very tired and just on the moment I felt asleep something weird happened, I got into sleep but I felt, I realised it somehow, damn I can't explain, it's just unexplainable...

Someone experienced this too?

Something like that happened to me last year... (that was the third time I had a "paralisis")..

I felt something in the room... i felt like someone very evil was in the room.. i was kinda scared but i just waited and i was back to normal again...

About the "falling asleep" post... well yeah thats really cool.. strange to explain but cool..

Anyway I haven't have lucid dreams or anything like that at least since I started classes this year.. maybe too much stress or something...

Every time you wake up and remember a dream or any bit of a dream write it down.. make this a habit. You will soon remember tons fo dreams - i remember at least 3 a night usually more. When you can do this very well you'll start to be able to do Lucid Dreaming.

cheers!
