Does everyone cheat?

Started this thread in the TOTA section and it generating some interesting responses.....wanted to see what the New Yawkers had to say about it:
Having a conversation with my cowokers, and one of them cheats on his girl left and right.....all the while the girl has literally NO clue that its been going on for 7 years +. He does the most scumbag to get away with it, too. This coworker also professes his undying love for this girl, and says he wants to marry/have kids with her, but can not stay with one woman for sexual purposes. LOL.
..... And the other people (both men AND women) in the office are saying that everyone cheats at some point, and I am almost agreeing with them.
It seems as if humans are not "made" to be monogamous for their entire lives....... despite their "love" and "commitment", it seems as if most people have faced temptation and have given in.

| it seems like in the beginning of a relationship all i want to do is be with my girl but as time goes on its cool to hang out with them but sexually i cant stay with one girl..with my last relationship we were in some rocky times and she probly thought we were still together but i went around saying i was single and went on a wild rampage for 2 weeks..i dunno if thats cheating or not.. |

Don't know if you would classify this as cheating but I broke up with a guy and he didnt get the picture and was still saying he was my boyfriend (which he wasn't) so I started seeing another guy so he would leave me alone.
Thats the ONLY and the closest thing I've done to cheating. (He considered it cheating because he felt he still had me, but I didn't)
IMO there is really no point. If you don't care for the person you are with break up with them and see someone else. Don't waste they're time stringing them along if you are just going to hurt them at some point when they find out.
I have enough self control to say no and I would never put myself in that type of position where it would even be possible to begin with.
In the past if I found out someone cheated on me...their DONE. No second chances. I beleive in the once a cheater always a cheater rule and would never take that risk. |

I think pretty much everyone cheats at some point and maybe that is human nature but I also believe that people have the complete ability to commit to one person if they are willing to do so and can control and resist whatever other temptation crosses their path...it's just a matter of wanting to do it and putting forth an effort.
I can't stand people who think it's ok to have the best of both worlds ie. married people who cheat with no thoughts of ever leaving their husbands/wives/kids. |

Imo, it's the kind of thing that once a mentally is started, it's extremely hard to stop. IE, if when you're single, and go around banging random people, once you have a gf/bf (even if you truly do care about them) it's really hard to change that mentality. IMO, people who aren't promiscuous by nature will def have a harder time being with one person than those who are not.
It's not at all impossible, but you have to REALLY want to be monogamous (should I say monotonous? lol) to be/stay faithful. |
