guess you didn't see my post then either. i had 5 wisdom teeth pulled too. they told me i had 5, not just another extra tooth. my mom had 6 wisdom teeth. there will always be outliers in every situation (wow, that stats class i took last semester is getting to me...) but seriously, i know with 100% certainty that i had 5 wisdom teeth. and they were all pulled. so it is possible.

No pain until long after the procedure.

Should be very fast recovery time, but you'll sound like a dumbass for at least the next day.

i've been putting this off for a while, but now i'm in some pain and experiencing stiffness in my neck (my tooth is a vertical impaction and is partialy exposed through the gumline). worst of all, i don't have dental insurance.:( gonna have to pay $$$. anyone know how much a typical extraction costs?

maybe i should get a dental plan and then use it.

I got knocked out for mine, and woke up halfway through. It was horrifying.. Trust me, you want to be put to sleep for the procedure.. Tell them to give you a BIG shot of the knockout drug so you don't wake up until it's finished..

In the US it's probably between $1K and $2K depending on how many teeth need to be removed, how many are impacted, if you want to be out or awake with a local, etc.

It's not painful. Except that I only had one taken out and they didn't give me any painkillers for it after but even then I had minimal pain. I hope they do gimme painkillers when they take out the other 3.
