It's not painful. Except that I only had one taken out and they didn't give me any painkillers for it after but even then I had minimal pain. I hope they do gimme painkillers when they take out the other 3. |
I had 4 removed, total time in the dentists office was 45mins, and most of my pain came from that damn chock they used to hold my mouth open. My damn jaw joint muscles were the worst of the pain. |

I am glad I read this post. I am having two taken out TOMORROW!!!!!!!
One impacted and one fully exposed with a cavity the size of a hookers vagina.
I wasn't sure which way I was gonna go. But after reading this, I'm going for the gas. |

i've been putting this off for a while, but now i'm in some pain and experiencing stiffness in my neck (my tooth is a vertical impaction and is partialy exposed through the gumline). worst of all, i don't have dental insurance.:( gonna have to pay $$$. anyone know how much a typical extraction costs?
maybe i should get a dental plan and then use it. |
Mine is going to be about 1800. My insurane is paying all but 280 of it. |

all four of mine were impacted. get the gas. and the painkillers afterwards. you probably won't need them (i didn't really); but took 'em anyways:gsmile: |

It will be the weekend, so I am (Of course) taking the day off and will have Mr. Daniels waiting for me when I get home. That will be my pain killer. |

| also, make sure to eat soft foods for at least the first two days (ice cream, puddin, runny macaroni and cheese, etc...). the last thing you want is a piece of food getting stuck back there:nervous: |

The grossest part of the whole process is squirting water from that water serenge a couple days later in the holes where the teeth used to be and seeing a bunch of little chucks of food come washing out. :nervous: |
u're not supposed to chew anything at the back of your jaws 2 to 3 days after they're out ;)
afaik in my country you can only get local anesthetics, complete knock out is not an option. at first I was kinda pissed by that as i've had a complete knock out before when I was a kid however after the first pair of wisdom teeth it didn't seem all too bad.
just the crunching noises and pressure on the teeth sux a bit.
after my teeth went out I had a lot of blood loss tho. the first one kept bleeding for roughly 48hrs. :(
didn't have any real pain tho, just a bit sore tissue around it.
i could eat normally after little more than 2 days :) |

same. lots of gauge. (gauze?) but no major pain. and i didn't have to do the whole water/rinsing thing either. 'course all i ate was liquid(y) food for the first two. after that, steak and burgers, YEAH! |
