Seriously dude, off. Woody is one of the most helpful people here, with more regular gigs than you I believe.

What does having more gigs than someone have to do with knowing about mixers and how to use them? If you used both multiple times then having X number of gigs means nothing.

Not much. It's like what does my preference of the DJM 800 over the Xone 92 have to do with my taste in music? Nothing, yet RJT tried to make a point out of it.

I think people are just reacting to RJT attacking almost everything I say.

Probably because he see's a new DJM vs Xone thread every other day. Usually ending with the majority leaning towards the 800 (pretty much proven to be the inferior mixer, in sound quality and build), due to so many jocks loving the cheesy effects unit built in.

Though I haven't used either myself, I own a DJM-400 & am already tired of the gimmicky effects that are built in, and have almost completely stopped using them. My next mixer will most definately be a Xone:92. It's the mixer that has everything I want/need & nothing that I don't.

Add to that in almost every case 6 months later the people who decided on the DJM are chiming in about their disappointments with the mixer, and yeah - the topic is ing tired.

You like mass marketed, generic, cheesy, chart music and mass marketed, generic, overpriced, popular DJ equipment. Seems as apt an analogy as any I've ever seen, and when you couple that with the absolutely dreadful reasons you've given for preferring the 800, one is only left wondering how anyone actually interested in DJ'ing can buy such clear BS.

Anything else anyone needs cleared up?

Oh yeah - this works. Please use it.

If you look at the music people who prefer either mixer play, it seems to have everything to do with it, because therein lies the reasons for their preference.

For playing top 40 the Xone 92 may be the most pointless mixer in the world, for layering techno and house the DJM-800 is not the sharpest tool in the shed. I mean, isn't it obvious that the music you play should have a huge impact on what you decide to play and mix it with? :wtf:

Also, if "more gigs" means playing top 40 and rock for cash, then I never want to have "more gigs" than anyone.

Keep it.

Rob, clearly you dont know how to DJ. You're supposed to take every single gig possible now matter how and retarded for "experience", compromise your musical taste and integrity whenever possible, buy music you don't like because the idiots you play for do, and generally acquiesce to everything. Then once you have experience you get a rider and you can demand 8 DVDJs and a DJM-1000 and 10 bottles of grey goose and a DJ Whore corral behind the booth.

Let us know when you figure out how to play with the big boys
