I like my DJM 800 over the Xone 92... But that's just me. hehehe Anyhow, the difference between the 800 & 700 isn't much. Research it and you'll see. I got my DJM800 at Guitar Center for $1300, which is the same as the DJM700.

That makes perfect sense - bad taste in music, bad taste in gear.
I suppose for Unicorn trance or McProg, a DJM 800 is a DJ's wet dream - it's a bare bones mixer with wretched sound quality (that oddly makes the music sound better) and horrible EQ curves, BUT with the simple turn of a knob even the most tone-deaf of DJ's can avoid key clashes for those random 16 notes where you might have misphrased a bassline and have competing frequencies. And let's not forget that flanger - the only effect that will ever be used on countless 800's the world over. What would trance be without that flange?!?
For everyone else, however, there are plenty of better choices - and certainly not just Allen & Heath choices. I just don't see how an educated consumer or DJ can prefer a DJM 800 to the literally dozens of better options out there.
Oh wait, it's got loads of pretty lights too. Nevermind. DJM 800 OR BUST, MANG! 4 LAIFE!
EDIT: FLANGING FOREVER! NEVER FORGET! |

| That was uncalled for. You know nothing about me. I'll just ignore that comment. |

i have the djm700...for the price i got it for...its great...couldnt really justify the 800 for the price when i was looking at mixers.
xone vs djm...endless debate...it ultimately goes nowhere. :)

I didn't call you a jerkface or a douchebag, all I said was I think you have bad taste in both music and gear, and knowing what you play it doesn't surprise me that you would choose the bog-standard in mixers.
The irony of this coming at the end of your post, however, was absolutely delicious:

People who like mixing music prefer Xone 92s...people who like being party DJs and having an array of cheap effects like DJM-800s. I once played pre-recorded hip hop CDs at a house party with the 800 and added several roll effects and other tricks to each track and all the clueless kids at the party said I was amazing. Case. In. Point.
Here's another excellent example posted by our friend RobertStern:

This mixer is mandatory on all their tech riders. The best play with the best. Period. |
