Philosophy of science has to do with method and validity, as well as how arguments are rationalized and justified.
Commentary will never have to do with specifics of design and generally has more to do with ethical problems and assessing objectivity (as well as the possibility of objectivity).

Ahh ok, makes sense. I can see why they would scoff at them reviewing the work, but at the same time, where would we be if it weren't for them doing it. There are way to many opportunities to make a small mistake that influences the research to a point that it can no longer be considered credible. If they are there to stop, or hinder that, then I am all for it. Yes I understand that it can make the project much more daunting, and hindersome, but it is worth it in the end imho. |

Well the first choice is obvious... Scientology.
On a moar serious note though... Given I'm going into Pre-Med next semester most likely, I suppose I'd have to go with Biology. Anatomy is fascinating as well, but I'm not sure if it's considered quite so top tier as the big fellows like Bio/Chem/Physics. |

This seems as relevant a place as any for me to post this, but I don't believe in the physical existence of whole numbers.
We can comprehend what "one" of something is, but we can never see exactly one of anything, except for "one" of another abstract concepts (i.e. "One Rob Turner").
I've often thought this might be the most overt sign of my own insanity that I am capable of recognizing.

LOL that is your philosophical mind. Whereas my mechanical mind, I can both enumerate and relate what "one" of anything is. Just like for me, the concept of electricity generation is impossible for me to really understand why/how it works. I know exactly the process, "what" it is, etc., but I can not for the life of me make sense of it. |

Well that's true to a degree but numbers are still usable either way, regardless of if you see them as existing or not.
Maths goes well with Physics so I think you can consider it at least in part associated with science.
That's actually an interesting point RJT. Technically, there are many strange thoughts like that. Take for example the fact that EVERYTHING you see around you doesn't actually look like that. There is no such thing as colour or shading. It all depends on how your eyes and brain interpret it and you visualise it. A bee sees the world completely different to you. |

You want to change from a discipline which constantly strives for new ideas, new inventions and the increase in efficiency of old inventions, to a discipline which basically just repeats the same things over and over and over again? I mean, how much can the study of language possibly benefit us any more than it does now? |
