Well, considering we don't move in until the 22nd, I can't confirm 100% but Adam and I are both in agreement so I can't see a problem.
Like I said in my first post though, I don't have ANY time - we are going to England from the 9-19th August, I have to have our condo packed up by then and we have to move in the weekend of the 22nd not forgetting furniture shopping etc etc.... SO, we can use our space as long as the only thing I have to sort out is the neighbours.
Deal? |
Done deal.
I'll be on the horn w/ Nat's recommended rental place later today for price quotations et al., & then from there we'll be able to start formulating a budget which will help dictate what can be done & what it'll all cost. From there, w/ a loose list of associated costs we can get down to proper layout plannin for the backyard & run that against the known costs to see what's viable.
As far as set up goes, you've definitely got my hands & my brain (for whatever that's worth) & it looks like others are more than willing to help with all this too. But as far I'm concerned, if you and Adam are saving the day by providing a location, that should be the end of your obligation.
All hail Queen Rachel, the saviour (as it seems right now) of the TOTA end of summer BBQ! |

Perfect. Let's formulate costs :). Adam and I will happily provide the electricity ;) and I will have a knock on to my new neighbours' houses on Sat when we're there for our other appointment, introduce ourselves and mention that we may be having a big bbq fairly soon :)
If someone can start asking about boards to cover the weeds - perhaps someone has connections? |

I've already looked into the cost of the plywood should we have to purchase it new (which might be the best b/c that way it's not already cracked etc.). Roughly a 1000sq.ft. of 1/4" ply runs $200 or so.
BUT if anyone works at a construction co. & can gather either cheaper cost or use old forming board, that'd be even better, & cheaper :toothless |

I THINK A LOT OF YOU ARE MISSING THIS POST REGARDING STREET PARTIES:
|
Also...I STRONGLY suggest PMing Nat and asking her what the best way is to go about renting porta potties, tents, organization and everything...rather than just have a bunch of ppl chime in. B/c with the number of people on this site now, this thread is just going to turn into:
"I think we should do this"
"I think we should do that"
And then it'll be a bit ruckus and nothing will get done. If you get some basic information from Nat, at least you have an outline to go by.
That being said...I think it should be kept on the Saturday before Labour of Love, as per tradition. [/QUOTE]
! I wish I could quote like that........... |
