Why is abortion still an issue?

In this country. I honestly can't believe that is something we still even need to discuss.

This election is an embarrasment, as the rest of the world watches and LOLs at our politics. The whackjob christian conservatives need to hurry up and die off. Its 2008 for s sake.

Oh and did anybody hear Giuliani last night? He's STILL playing the 9/11 card. Hes said the dems "forgot what happened" :haha:

This is all such a joke. Call me a pessimist, but sometimes this country seems so hopeless.

The country is relatively insular, and enjoys a high standard of living. So it can afford to waste time on things that are a non-issue in other countries.

Abortion is still in issue because its the silent genocide that the Dems are waging.

Don't worry...There is a generational shift going on and the old religious nutjobs that blindly support republicans are slowly dying off. They aren't going quietly though. They love their religion, their old traditions, and their wedge issues and they VOTE every 4 years.

But like I said, they are slowly dying out. When they're gone, we can finally move forward as a country..embracing science and reason instead of the old bigotry and superstition they worship.

You're an idiot if you think only religious nutjobs have an issue with abortion or are on the fence, and probably don't understand any of the arguments for or against it to begin with.

Who gives a since if abortion is overturned on a Federal level then it will be up to the states to pass their own abortion laws. I.E. can't get an abortion in Texas... drive to New Mexico.

It isn't amazing to me since most people are idiots. I would be amazed if it were the other way around.

I understand the arguments for and against it, but the religious nutjobs are the problem because they don't understand the arguments, and there are so very many of them.
