Question for the trance heads

Got a good friend who has been reluctant to step into the realm of edm... trying to drag him away from the bubble gum pop he constantly exposes himself to. What's a good "introductory" trance set that would ease him into the world of edm? Any help would be appreciated and if you have a link to a specific mix, that much better. Thanks.

P.S. Preferably nothing on either extremes...too banging or too euphoric.

just give him a tiesto or pvd mix between 2000-2003.

they will all do the job.

the set that got me hooked is the tiesto one from club space, miami circa 2002

also, check out Misja Helsloot - Live at Club Asta (02-21-04). i always liked that one a lot.

I coached girls varsity basketball at a Catholic school where the kids only listened to radio top 40 crap. I finally found an edm cd that they would enjoy on the way to games in the minibus I drove around. It was Sander Kleinenburg's Everybody 2 .... the funkier disc... forget now which one. EVERY girl on that bus knew the lyrics that were on the CD and they all got into the beat. I consider it a very good gateway CD to the drug we call electronic music.

Thanks for the help folks. Are there direct links to these mixes or are they to be purchased?

My friend is a physicist who is working on linear particle acceleration and will be involved with the collider project...so I figured something besides T-Pain and Christina Aguilera might help.:)

It doesn't get any better than this as far as I'm concerned.

Well, other than perhaps both parts of the second edition of Northern Exposure. Either way, can't go wrong.

Honestly, I think it'd be cool to send him various mixes... I was just trying to avoid "extremes" and get in the middle ground, but if you think it's an awesome mix worth checking out...I'll pass it on. Now, more importantly, where can he find it? Or where can I find it for him?

RJT, thanks for the info!

I've just realized after this thread how absolutely little I know about trance.
