It totally is awesome.

When u turn on the app your camera goes on with a a red line - so u have to aim it to a barcode and then it reads it!

I did the closest thing near me which was Organic Blue Corn Chips from Guiltless Gourmet - and it found it but on a website for 32$. Must've been for a case. I didn't bother to check the website cuz I wouldn't buy Blue Corn Chips online anyways. It was just to try it out.

The phone isn't officially out yet so I am sure more apps will appear. I keep seeing new ones but now it's charging.

Overall I am happy. My boyfriend is already mad cuz I haven't been paying attention to him haha. He got the phone too but I am more obsessed over it.

I was using one a bit the other night. A friend develops for the platform. I like the interface although it is a little choppy. The touchscreen is plenty sensitive. The keyboard is mediocre at best. The keys are too small. The trackball works very well. The internet, aside from the speed of edge, works very well. They did well with the browser. And funnily enough, it was my HTC Hermes (AT&T 8525), vs my buddy who has an iPhone 3G, and the G1. Safari kept crashing while going to a website my buddy and I could go to fine.

Overall impression: It has some work to be done, but very solid and good pda phone out of the gate from scratch. Obviously it won't be good for corporate users yet, but give it time.

i love my G1 sooooo much :o

Shazam is pretty accurate app, though Iphone already had something like that

CompareEverywhere is pretty good for price comparison.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the GPS component in the phone which makes it a full fledged GPS unit when combined with google maps.

also ENkin hasn't gone live yet but it looks to be very promising: here's a vid of it in action

Also, BioWallet

a biometric security app that uses the phone's camera to scan the user's iris before unlocking the phone.
