Its a bit rude yes, but i only say so because you write that he asked about the sauce even before he tasted the food. I do agree that one should season his food to his taste, however he should have at least tried a bite or two before asking for the sauce. I am quite proud of my cooking skills, and while i dont mind people putting various sauces on the food that i prepare, but try a bite and sample how delicious the food is, before you put a sauce on.
Of course if I am preparing a really nice meal, i do all of the sauces from scratch anyway so even if they cover the food with the sauce, i find comfort that they enjoy the sauce that i carefully prepared so no ego bruising there :D |

believe it or not, i pondered it. not that he doesn't love me, but whether or not the difference in food taste is a deal breaker.
he doesn't have a very sophisticated palet and i love trying new stuff and cooking exotic dishes. it's a huge part of my life (food lol) so the fact that he's just a meat and potatoes and beer type is kinda disappointing. |
