Bringing some trance to Toronto... again.

OK, so I'm not talking about bringing international dj's here (not yet atleast), but I'd like to open up the discussion on whether or not Toronto would accept a weekly trance night in the downtown club district?
Firstly, let's rule out the possibility of having it on a Friday or Saturday night. For reason's being that the club already has an agenda for those nights already. Yes, obviously one of those nights would always be ideal, but let's rule it out. So what night do you think would be best? For arguments sake, let's say either Thursday nights, Sunday nights?
Personally I think Thursday nights are better just because everyone's already looking forward to the weekend and nobody's dreading Fridays at work like they do Mondays, right?
So taking into consideration that a club is already interested, try to avoid the whole "try and find a club that will let you have the night first" argument. Consider it signed, sealed and delivered. Basically I just want to gauge what your opinions are on the matter, and if the venue and price is right, do you think clubbers would give it a chance?
Please don't start on about how trance sucks and no one listens to it and blah blah blah..... I'm tired of hearing the same bull over and over again, and I think with the amount of people that show up to Guvernment almost every weekend when trance is being played shows, there is a real market out there, just maybe not as popular as others.
So lay it on me. Vote on the poll. And let's try to have a (somewhat) serious discussion on how you feel the state of trance is in Toronto, and the future movement some people are trying to make.

| Of the nights possible, I think thursdays would be best to get people out. Plus it would have to be downtown. I understand Rio is trying to hold it down, but it just way too far out of the way. Location is key. |

| Rio held down Saturdays nights a ways back, trust me I know ;) But not no more. Wednesday's they marketed "Asian Wednesdays" and actually pulled in a big crowd! That's why I was thinking Wednesday's shouldn't be ruled out as the Asian market seems to be pretty big and a good one to tap into to bring in a regular crowd again. Since there's no more Asian Wednesdays, couldn't this be a possible alternative? |
