My BIG tip for quick entry....go to the left side of the VIP parking lot..basically hoover street. The wait to get in there was basically nothing at Monster Massive while all the other entrances were insane.

It's hidden, which is why. You have to go around behind the VIP parking lot and the entrance was behind it....like right where the red "exit" sign is on the map below

Drink lines this year at MM in the VIP were wonderful for us too! Lines all shorter than 10 minutes each time :)

But we sat in line at the VIP enterance you are talking about on Hoover and we were in line for over an hour just for the security. How they had it set up made it 3 lines- one to get into the gated parkinglot, one to go through security and then one to get our tickets scanned. We missed most of Markus by the time we got in there :( Lesson learned again. We will leave for the SA much earlier this time! 2 more days!!! YAY!

So even with the VIP entrance arriving around, say, 9 I would still possibly wait?

Should I take the bus/subway to this event rather than trying to bribe a cab? I could take the bus up Figueroa then walk the rest of the way.

Well these inept morons have yet to send me the pdf file necessary to download my tickets. I've called twice and its the same jump through the hoops.

edits: I needs sleep.

Yeah, that VIP line along the gate was F'd......LUCKKILLLY, some guy who used to hang with Michelle's (my fiance) sister years back and works for GV and was right at the VIP entry gate as we were wondering aroudn wondering WTF was going on with the line and pulled us in. That was the only part of our adventure in trying to get in. Yeah, it was a pain in the butt overall. Got there to see JOC before Markus too, but missed his whole set and got in during Markus' first track. Actually had a ton of fun at MM though...unexpectedly!

If you take a cab, tellt hem to go a back way and not down Figueroa to avoid traffic. I've never encountered traffic going the back way. Ever.

And if they do the line the same way again, then yeah...you may wait.

A big part of the problem in the VIP line at MM is they ran out of VIP wristbands and it took like 25-30 minutes to for the guy to go grab another box of them and get back. Yet another part of my great adventure getting in (there's like five parts in all!)....was three people back from getting my wristband and inside and they run out of them!! Gar. Made me miss the rest of JOC's set an by the time they got new bands. I was fortunate to only be a few people back in line when this happened, even with the long wait, because when it was over the all the VIP lines at the security area were crazy long.

ITA. This could save so much time.

Ok. This makes total sense as no one was being allowed in for a while as we stood in the security line. That night was the worst in terms of VIP lines IMO.

Another really dumb question, but my aunt was curious when I told her where the event is.

Do you think there will be coat check, and if not locker check? Surely it being a sports arena, you could just check a locker or something to put all your crap in?

I never recall seeing lockers or a coat check at the SA. The Sports Arena is an old basketball stadium and it's quite run down. The chances are very slim IMO.

HTH. Hope to see you there :)

Damn, I was really hoping to not carry my bag around all night. Uuugh.

You'll spot me right away, I'll be the most overdressed person there. :haha:

Looks like Groovetickets customers have their own entrance.

Any idea where all the taxis will be after the show? Or is it better to call them ahead of time?
Unless of course you guys know of a better way to get to LAX.
Thanks.
