I know what you mean slylee, I've hosted a couple of nights with big time underground DJs. For the most part, it's a ty business from top to bottom. If you're lucky you will meet DJs that have inspired you & pays off all the you have to put up with.
For me it was more about dealing with the club owners in order to get our percentages straight and I hired a third party to observe if the employees were selling what they were supposed to & we discovered they were selling drugs to make profit for themselves.

As much as I fantasize about DJ'ing as any EDM fan on this board would, having a job based on night life sounds to me like it would completely suck balls. Not my kind of thing at all.
I can't understand the kind of attitude many people out there have anyway... people, clubbing is all about having fun. Not about showing yourself to be a badass mother******, not about picking fights, not about looking good in front of your mates. It's about enjoying yourself. There's always dicks who don't get it, though, or try to make a profit for themselves out of it.

Well, it's not a pretty scenario but it's reality and you learn from it. I never hosted a night again, but we were happy to have worked with an elite agency from New York & our name will be remembered, for what's it worth.
Now, I'm older and enjoy going to parties to meet new people, like me. I don't think I'll be hosting any nights sometime soon.
