You have to realize this is probably the only moment in their lives where they can exercise any sort of "power" and "control" so why not make the most of it? These people also come to the understanding just how pathetic and miserable their situation is so why not go on a power trip? I mean when you were a kid did you ever look the future and dream of being a nightclub employee? |

mel & chach...it's Pangea @ Hardrock. i'm not a regular though they sort of have me as a backup and i'm fine w/ that. i wasn't crazy about sacrificing my saturdays every weekend anyway, so it's just sporatically when they need me they'll call me during the week. if i can work, i will....if i can't, i can't. it's $135 a shift plus the opportunity is there to make tips of course. it's fun and easy...i wanted to make some extra cash for the holidays.
the staff is definitely like family and the bottle servers are all pretty cool...kinda snobby at first but they open up once they realize you're decent. even the brazilian chicks are ok and we start doing shots towards the end of the night... but i just see how they are and they are telling me, "oh u have to be bitchy in this industry, i've been doing it for bla bla years, bla bla" and i just don't agree at all. what is wrong with being friendly to people at a nightclub who are there to spend money? lol |

exactly. treat your customers like and they will less likely to come back
this is esp true for small club promoters
a 'thanks for coming' and 'have a good night' goes a long way |

one of the bussers is this younger kid and he was talking to me on saturday saying that i have a very friendly face and i'm always smiling...he said it as if it was so rare lol i mean i'm sure it is in that place but i thought it was funny that it's really noticable when someone who works there is smiling and having a good time.
south florida in general is like that. if you go to lincoln road on south beach for dinner the hostesses are ing obnoxious, i want to smack them half the time. like they are too cool and too hot for that job so they're just gonna walk around like they own the place...it's comical |
