Further to this, the ironic thing is that clubs and bars are some of the worst places to pick up in my opinion. Yes, people have lowered inhibitions, but there is also more competition and people are more so on their guard to reject you, rather than if approached in a less obvious situation. |
anddddd
you have no idea where anyone is coming from... drugs and alchohol not only bring out the worst in people sometimes, but can also bring out some of the worst people!
if you just meet someone out of the random, who the knows man lol |

I agree with you... I have 2 friends in different states who are both still caught up in the gung-ho "friday/saturday night balls out get wasted and pick up chicks" mode like it's a ing religion. It sucks going out with either of them if it's just me and them, because once we step foot in a nightclub, I can forget having a conversation with them the rest of the night... they're locked and loaded to find some ass, period.
They don't know how to find a girl a different way, or in a different place, and can't figure out why each time they meet some skank while out partying, a real relationship never pans out. And they complain all the time how there are no good girls out there... it's a vicious cycle. I think there's little hope for either of them.
They will inevitibly be the single 40 year old dude who eats alone in restaurants and still goes to college night at the local club wearing a tight graphic tee |

| Yea conversation is also a big part of the experience for me so clubs don't really go well with that. It's hard to get to know someone when you can barely hear yourself think :haha: |

Definitely. I was knocking around with this chick last year who I used to have great conversations with on the phone and when we went out to anywhere but a club. As soon as she entered a club she would become almost mute.
It took me a month or so to figure out that she was a speed freak and one of those people who has taken so many drugs that rather than become extroverted and chatty, they become withdrawn and surly.
Come to think of it, a lot of people I know have become that way. :( |

it seams the older I get the harder I look for smaller low budget places with a good vibe and banging DJ... big clubs are sort played out to me.. ...
my 2 cents is toronto has some of the best door men and guest lists .. miami suxs so bad for door service... |

ahaha someones being naughty!
one time, one of my girls were having a birthday party, i knew the DJ who spun there, i got on the DJs guestlist and walked right into the security area where they were checking people, this cop hugged me from the back and took me to another line where they were checking for IDs and i was like whats going on lol
two random girls from no where bumped on me and asked me if i can get them into the guestlist i said sure i can say plus 2 with me, so we got in to club.
don't party as much as i used to, thou got to know people and clubs that books quality djs and def made a whole bunch of friends! :D |

This thread degenerated into a "this one time at a club" story time so here goes:
charon won a spot+1 on sasha's guestlist at Space in miami a while back through sasha's website - he randomly draws a name from his mailing list for one person in every city he spins.
So we get to Space around 1-2am and stand in the vip line to get in. The bitch working the door says "the list ends at midnight." I freak of course and inquire further. "Sorry, can you check sasha's list again? I know we're on it..."
Her eyes bug out a bit and she goes "omg sorry I thought you meant Space's list...let me go get Sasha's list..." and disappears for a bit.
I scream over the crowd to charon, who's anxiously waiting for news. "SHE DIDN'T REALIZE WE'RE ON SASHA'S GUEST LIST! STUPID BITCH THOUGHT WE WERE ON THE SPACE LIST!" The looks on peoples' faces were priceless :D
To this day that was the ONE and ONLY time ANYONE working a club has ever apologized to me. EVER. I've always found it ironic that a music genre that used to profess PLUR and all that bull somehow found its way into nightclubs, which tend to stand for the complete opposite of those intentions. |
:stongue:
I'll never forget how much of an asshat the doorguy was when I went to Pryda this WMC. And he left to "go get" Eric's list too. Why the are the DJ's lists somewhere else? lol |
