Didn't know that. US Airways do it with one of their credit cards too.

hey, i actually like Northwest quite a bit. granted they're usually the most convenient airline for me to fly from Milwaukee to NY, but i've flown a lot of other domestic airlines that i thought were way worse - AA and Southwest in particular.
Midwest is probably my favorite domestic airline. fresh baked chocolate chip cookies FTW. :happy2: |
Fair dos. Chocolate chip cookies are enough to sway me to any airline. :D AA seem to do them on most of their 2hr+ flights or where they serve lunch/dinner and I always ended up getting thirds or fourths :o The smell of cookies baking in the oven is just mouthwatering...

you must not pack like a typical girl. :p there's usually no way i can fit everything into a carry-on sized bag. |

When was that?
LHR along with most other UK airports reverted back to the two carry on bags allowance smack on a year ago. I have no problems with my over the shoulder laptop bag and 20" rollerbag, though you'll find the occasional yellow polo shirt goon who'll want me to throw it in the sizer at security.
Maybe you should've read the baggage rules before you travelled. Operator error :p
I've probably posted more on this thread than I've done on TA in some whole years on TA :o |

While I don't disagree with your operator error comment, this is horse . $50 for 10lbs over but $25 more for a 50lb bag. If it was reasonable it wouldn't be a big deal. It is when you can pay less for something with LESS weight and LESS space yet you stick it in their ass with no lube, that it is ing stupid. |

22" rollerboards are permitted in the overheads. i've learned to pack for a full week in one :gsmile:

That's looks good now because I'm hungry but that's why I don't fly international F on AA....Ben & Jerrys in F! My parents flew them a couple of years back and had Uno's Pizza in F!
LOL @ Port with B&J though!:D

Working for them? Civil aviation is a real interest of mine. Would love to get into working for one of the airlines at a corporate level...maybe when I move back to the UK. |

i'd really wish they'd change their menu. uno's pizza was [is?] the standard snack in coach on inbound, transatlantic international flights...and it seems to be served a LOT in domestic first class. that's gotta go, along with the color/zebra-striped ravioli. it makes me sick!
as i'm sure you're aware -- equipment type has a lot to do with the service, as well as whether you're inbound or outbound from the US...even from which city you depart makes a difference.

yes, i worked for them for 11yrs and was still pulling 120k-150k of nonbusiness-related miles per year. :disbelief corporate would be great...give me a G550 any day! |

Nice work, ID90s I take it? Did the corporate jet a thing a couple of times at my old job. Good fun and very convenient for domestic travel. |

Why are you flying to Zurich from Tel Aviv to head to Singapore? Can't you fly to Dubai or somewhere and go non-stop to Melbourne from there? |
at 3 to 4 times the cost, i can. the reason for the strange routing is both budget and convenience, not that landing in zurich is convenient, rather, i prefered my layover to be at singapore specifically, rather than hong kong or bangkok or a few other options i had, also sorted me with a great airline as you can see, and all at a far cheaper price than many alternatives - some of which even less convenient.

There's a hotel airside in Changi Airport. Worth a look if you are there for 8hrs with nothing else to do. There are also free internet terminals dotted around the airport.

nah, changi is the perfect airport to spend your layover at, free movies, free internet, maybe some decent shopping.. won't need a hotel. |
