My first live Grand Prix this weekend, can't wait!
Unfortunately, during on of Ferrari's worst season, but ... at the most beautiful circuit of the world |

racing! RACING! RACING!
I love Spa, and I love that this grid is so ass backwards from usual.
Go Feces! I'd love to see Force India, Toyota or BMW steal a win here. |

Man, live F1 is impressive. Unbelievable.

And Hamilton crashing 200metres further, didnt see that live though.

| who would've thought it would happen at the beginning of the season; Fisi in Ferrari. Good for him, his dream came though and he's got a neat retirement job. Another happy Italian at his home grand prix should be Tonio Liuzzi. |

Well, unlike what yu se on the tele, there's nothing really luxurious about watching a GP live, unless you pay a load of money I suppose. That didn't matter to mee though.
We arrived pretty late (we had tickets for the entire weekend but in the end we could only make it on sunday), around about 12h30 so it was pretty packed allready. We were in the long straight from Raidillon to Les Combes. No real seats over there, just a hill with grass to sit on. We took a seat high up but couldnt see all that much we we mostly went from one place to another. Saw Kimi's manoeuver perfectly though, since I was expecting him to use his KERS over there.
Yeah, there was indeed a big screen over there which made it easy to fllow the race, and also a speaker providing extra information. Also there's quite a few fans walking around with some satellite operated little TV enabling you to follow the race live. Very cool actually, you can switch from the live race coverage to the current positions, current championship status...
Fans were average where I was seated, they cheered when Kimi overtook Fisci but it wasnt that massiv. Betit would have been alot crazier had this taken place in Monza for instance. Or had it been Schumi. Great moment when they played the Italian national anthem though. Only downside was the fact that they didnt do a 'parade lap' after the race. I'm sure that would have been a great moment with all those Ferrari fans. Havent got a clue why they didnt do the extra lap...
What else to say? It was great, if you're a fan you should do this once in your lifetime. You def won't regret it.
And we saw 3 extremely drunk poles with some hot yet sluttish like chick :p |

its because the lap in spa is over 7 kilometers long, it would take a long time for them to parade trough it on low speed, and poor bernie wold lose a couple of people watching it on tv.
glad you enjoyed it, its the best track on the calendar :D |

Spa will be my next F1 race for sure (or maybe Valencia).
Living so close here in Amsterdam, I don't really have any excuse. I've been to Montreal, Suzuka, and the Nurburgring. I need to add Spa to the collection for sure :)
Glad you enjoyed it, Godfather. Watching a race live is great, but you miss most of the race because you don't really see the whole lap or get the details like you do on TV.
Still, there's something fun about being there for sure.
I think the Fisi story is great - not because Fisi gets to drive the Ferrari, but how Vijay Mallya handled the whole thing and released Fisi from his contract without a fuss or apparently financial compensation from Ferrari. He felt it was more important to allow someone to follow their dream. Such a positive and professional attitude that is sorely lacking in F1, especially in light of this impending show with Renault and the Singapore race from last year. |
