it may seem like a lot of money but citys owners need to have a winning turnover within a couple of years. they need champions league money to balance the books and signing players like robinho & kaka will go some way towards doing that. City have a reasonable squad, and were weakest at left back which they strengthened, an out & out striker to play robinho off and a world class playmaker, of which kaka fits. What is good is that there's some good young players there who ought to move to other clubs, such as mine, to have a good career, sturridge, evans, onouha etc would be great signings for any of us and if they have realistic ambitions to play 30+ games a season they'll need to move. |
Yeah, I agree, they need to make an effort to balance the books at some point, but with the amount of cash these guys have, it doesn't need to be a substantial one for now. Like Chelsea, they need to rely on their 'brand' to provide a proportion of the balance that you talk about, and signing players of high calibre and reputation will only go to stregthen the Man City one globally. Creating a team with 'superstar' players will introduce the club to a new set of fans outside the country. The publicity alone generated from Kaka-Gate will do wonders for their reputation if they pull off the coup.
Much like Chelsea, TV Revenue & competition cash etc will no doubt help but global merchandising is also important. |

Its all subject to opinion I guess. Players dip in and out of form all the time. I personally think Kaka is one of the best players in the world, if not the best. I think as a previous post suggests, he is the most complete football player I have ever seen, along with the likes of Zidane, he just has everything.
I don't know about his current form but pI think its difficult to say a best player in the world, all I know is Kaka is definitly up there with the likes of Messi, Ronalado and Crouch. |

I knew you'd say something like that :P
I mean seriously dude, he's not even the best striker atm, I'd take Eto or Villia or Henry or whatever over him anyday. |

Yeah he's been absolute this season thanks to injuries. He'll find his form again before too long, just too bad the season is almost over. |
