PS - we ended up getting Pizza Pizza breaded wings on Superbowl sunday and they were pretty good (60 wings for $42). The sauce was not on the wings, but they were crispy and came with hot/mild/formage bleu to dip them in.

I went in on Sunday afternoon to try them as well. Since I work at Duffs, I had to see what all the hype was about. Like Aleksandra said, they were ok, definately not amazing by any means. I will give credit to C&D on having some good original sauces and good sized wings, but there is something that has to be cleared up.
Duff's is by far the number 1 "Buffalo Style" chicken wings. in Toronto. The Anchor Bar in Buffalo invented Buffalo wings in the 60's and Duff's in Buffalo also started serving them in the 60's. Buffalo wings mean that the wings are in a cayenne-style red sauce mixed traditonally with butter and some other secret stuff. Thats what Duff's has and also some other flavours as well. I have served the same people week in week out for years! There is a line-up every single night at Duff's and thats because people love the wings.
I would love to hear people's opinions of your visit to C&D and perhaps next time you can all come to Duff's.
P.S. The reason we don't take reservations is because its just way too busy. We try and accomodate everyone as quickly as possible. Most people know that when you eat at Duff's (Bayview) its pretty much eat and get out, lol, because there's people waiting to get in.....at College, its much more relaxed.

TA wings show is more about sitting down for a few hours with drinks and wings, rather then eat and get out

Duff's came in 2nd and 3rd in the competition in the various categories along with St-Louis' (http://torontoist.com/2009/01/the_l..._that_could.php).
So, sadly Duff's lost, but C&D gets bragging rights for 2009 for winning all categories. I'm sure you'll work on impressing the judges more than C&D did next year. I'm not sure which location I called, but I called 416-963-4446, so sorry it didn't work out this time.

You called College St location. It is bigger and if you get there by 7sh, other than Tues, you should be ok for getting a big table or at least not wait that long. Lets not give this competition out of context. It was a little competition organized by a Marketing company. If you do your research and google Toronto Best Wings and search Chowhound etc, you will most likely always come up with Duff's being #1. But everyone has their own tastes and thats why I always like to try new wings in the city.
Next time you are all planning a wing night, let me know and I will do my best and help you organize it.
