It's log, it's log. It's big, it's heavy, it's wood.
It's log, it's log. It's better than bad, it's good.
Everyone loves a log. You're gonna love it, log.
So come on & get your log.
'cause everyone needs a log.

Duff's sucks ass imo cuz I'm not into the totally saucy wings. i like the baked-in flavour of St. Louis'. However, that is the Anchor Bar style and what is liked by the majority of people, so I would still go.
Even All-Star and I'm expecting C&D tonight to be totally saucy too; only the mild would come in the dry variety I think, but I'll bite the bullet to hang with my peeps! :) |

I like the drier type too generally... however C&D MAKES their own sauces and recipees, so they deserve some credit and the attention of my taste buds.
I found another great review here: http://www.eyeweekly.com/blog/post/50714

The Crown and Dragon's Vincent Lo and Stephanie Coones bask in the gloryPhoto 2of 2In an epic battle for Chicken Wing supremacy, the Crown and Dragon on Yonge Street emerged as the victor yesterday after two hours of battling heavyweight corporate Goliaths — Jack Astor’s, St. Louis, Hooters, and Duff’s. In true Slumdog style, the underdog took the win in all four categories of Wing Off 2009: Best Traditional Buffalo Wing Mild, Best Traditional Buffalo Wing Hot, Best International Flavour, and Most Creative Taste.
The Crown rolled out four of their 27 flavours with Key West BBQ (Mild), Dragon’s Breath (Hot), Bollywood (International) and Roadside Lemonade (Creative). Along with Chef Vincent Lo and GM Mike Weger, manager Stephanie Coones celebrated in the Tortilla Flats arena, where she expressed no surprise at their win.
“Our menu is about a year and a half old and it has had a great response at the restaurant. Honestly, I think we have a great product with original flavours. When we were asked to do this, we thought, ‘Alright, we can’t lose, we can’t lose.'”
And lose they did not, as all seven judges — including Chef Robert Rainford (License to Grill) and Top Designer Robin De Groot (Restaurant Makeover) — agreed that the Crown would take, er, the crown.
For the sake of investigative journalism, I decided to take a few nibbles of the Crown jewels and boy, the "flavour flav" was subtle yet undeniably present. The Roadside Lemonade was, dare I say, a light chicken wing (with its refreshingly zingy lemon glaze spruced up with rosemary), while the Dragon’s Breath was able to create a palatable spice without overshadowing the chicken itself — which was neither oily nor dry.
“They’re doing them in a more homemade [way] with genuine sauces," said Suzanne Lejeune, part-time judge and wing enthusiast. "I think that’s why they stand out from Jack Astor’s and Hooters, because [those] are mass produced and Crown and Dragon are making their own sauce.”
According to Brian Salnek of Northern Management, the Wing Off 2009 competition is more of a “wine-tasting” than a chow down. Wing Off 2010 is expected to return next year but, in a cryptic teaser, Salnek noted, “[it] will be quite different.”
Wing Off 2009 competitors are encouraged to participate again next year but the question remains: will the losing conglomerates return in a Rourke-worthy blaze of glory? |

Just ask for the wings not saucy. We do it all the time at Duff's because there are a lot of people who like the flavour of the sauce, but they don't like the wings dripping in sauce. St. Louis Wings are deep fried just like everybody else. One of the major differences is that their wings are shipped to them pre-marinated. And they put on only a little sauce.
Anywhere you go for wings, they should be able to make them not-saucy for you. When I tried Crown and Dragon, none of the wings I had were overly saucy at all. Actually, their Buffalo Medium Sauce (which sucked imho) was the sauciest. But they did have a few dry-style sauces, so you might be in luck.
Please post all of your reviews after eating here. Have fun. |

and lol, thanks for the advice, duff man. i sometimes feel silly asking, "yeah, i want it to be hot, but not saucy." and they look at me like, "the hot sauce IS a sauce so WTF are you talking about".
I don't like DRY DRY but I want there to be sauce on it for flavor, but not like a 2-3 mm layer of the slippery stuff. |

You need good bloodflow to the head, by getting your toes curled. It helps. Give yourself a hand or get help! |
