No, they didn't call the federal police to see if I could drive. They had a qualified examiner TEST ME. Clever of them, I know.

Ok, it's good that you were trained, I wasn't sure. I'll ease up :p

I'm curious to know then: What's your opinion regarding the easy sale of deadly weapons to 'untrained' civilians in your country?

try killing something with a knife. it gives you a different perspective on death when you have to feel a living thing dying and you can't simply shot and look away: pussies!

once i get restricted firearm license, planning to get an M4 and a Glock17

once you've shot a rocket launcher though, rifles just dont get the adrenaline going as much anymore

Here it is left up to the individual states on how somebody guys a weapon. In CA, you do have to have a license to buy a concealable weapon. They also have a waiting period as well. They also restrict the sale of "assault" type weapons as well. concealable weapons have to be registered, but rifles and shotguns do not.

I live in Arizona. We have the most relax gun laws in the country. anybody who passes a background check is allowed to walkout with any weapon in a matter of minutes. Arizona allows the sale of "assault" type weapons (semi only) and the possession/transfer of "machine gun" type weapons. No weapons have to be registered.

I believe that all weapons should be registered with the government. I personally don't care if they ban assault type weapons either. I don't believe that they have to tested to make sure they know how to shoot. A dealer should make sure that a person knows how to check to see a weapon is loaded, how to clear a weapon, how to put a weapon on safe, and how to lock the weapon so that childern can not activate it. Maybe even sign some documentation to state that it was done.

I saw my mother get shot in the head and die right in front of me. I don't blame the gun. I blame the person.

Killing somebody or seeing somebody die is not what i call "cool".

From my perspective, all of that still seems like a remarkably easy way to procure a deadly weapon. This is to say nothing of the fact that this 'ease' would be fueling an enormous black market for guns.

I'm not naive enough to think that there are no guns in Australia, despite our strict firearm laws, but here it's ING hard for some some unstable weirdo to just go out and buy a device that could end multiple lives within seconds. Legally purchased, or otherwise.

I just think there is no necessity for guns
