I can rename that thread but would prefer that one to remain as I have set up links to it so that your forum is not over run by events promotion threads.

can you delete the threads that you have locked please ?.
Wicked Neo
not for a while as I would like the thread starters to see why they have been locked and edited, so they use the correct thread in future.

Well, it's good to see that promoters that have been on here for years and used to be more active are now getting banned.

Neo isn't from NY so he isn't going to know who is active or not.

I haven't seen anyone being suspended that didn't deserve it. I could be wrong.

They can PM him or you can PM him and explain if it was an honest mistake. He is modding from across the pond :) Hopefully this just pushes us to get a co-mod from the NE.

If nobody would mind I'd like to volunteer for a mod position.

I think I'm fairly active here and check out this section daily for new stuff.

Plus i guess since enough NYTAs know me in person, I'm sure i know by now who's who and who is active and not.

I'll just say that a few of the recently banned had post counts in the hundreds. Most are promotions, but they aren't "bump" posts. For example, recently banned Sleepy & Boo or PlexiPR have been on here for as long as I've been and are usually helpful to most members of the NYTA community.

That said, most aren't as active anymore because the people who attend those parties have vacated the site for one reason or another, so they just look like promo threads rather than the types of threads created by the CORENYC people with 50 posts. Do with them what you will, I was just pointing it out because I found it interesting. I rarely post in this section because most of the topics just don't concern me, and it's not because they're all promo topics.

ive kinda kept out of this convo, but this post actual made me feel like i should say also jump in..

us promoters add to this forum just as much as everyone else on the board.. we put up our own money, time and effort to organize and run events for everyone on this board... banning us and not letting us post a thread about a party we have coming up is pretty messed up... all it will do is lower turnout and eventually we wont throw parties anymore!...

yeah u created a sub thread but some people may not see that or may not visit the site that often and not know it's there..

sure, their are a few threads that are created that are just bumped by 1 or 2 promoters and no one is involved in the discussion.. those threads are obvious... fine ban them, cuz they're spam.. and the people posting in them are not really members of the community.. but for the rest of us, those of us who are full fledged TAs taht also happen to throw parties... this board should embrace our threads...

for the most part a party that people are interested in generates discussion and only adds to the board... those threads are constantly being posted in.. the ones that no one cares about die... if you cant go to an EDM msg board and feel free to post and talk about events.. then whats teh point of coming on here...

sleepy and boo were banned? wow that's pretty messed up!... considering how much they've contributed to the nyc scene...

im really surprised NYTAs aren't upset and voicing their concern with this...
