I should come back and be mod and lay my black hammer down on all you foo's!
Mike - point well justified but you know, I know, we all know what goes on in here and all club/music/dj related forums. I personally don't know the difference between a promoter (like S&B) posting a party, then another user announcing the party because they are excited, then another thread about where to buy tickets or if anyone has an extra ticket, then a thread about a roll call, then a thread about a review.
Sounds funny but we all know it to happen frequently. I personally don't care whether there is 1 thread or 20 threads, i'm just saying the topic about WHY is something we should all know. WHY no mod, WHY ban this person, WHY 1 thread vs 20 threads. Guess what I'm really trying to say is either live with it or ignore it, the dynamics will never change, never did change, with or without a mod. Just so happens when people take focus away from not having a mod, they tend to just ignore the redundancy, then when we focus on having a mod people complain about particular members being suspended. It's quite the never ending battle, especially when we elect one of our own to be the mod of this section. I was that person and you wouldn't imagine the bull PMs you get and also the position you are put in (ie: when Montana suspended Tek I felt like I needed to say something..mod to mod)
.20cents in this bucket |

| Why is it so f'ing hard to understand that an upcoming events subforum is necessary? One giant thread with a million posts is very, very frustrating to navigate through. |

I agree totally Mate it's total and utter chaos now. Totally pointless and impractical.
Suspending Core's account ? WTF !!! I'm sure the new rules stated "if it is the 'SOLE PURPOSE' of the poster to promote and bump their own parties their accounts will be suspended"
Hopefully someone has pointed out to the new Mod' that CORE is a collective of regular posters and not people that 'SOLELY' post here to promote their parties. |

My point exactly man. On top of all that, maybe the snobby "try reading the sticky thread" post doesn't need to be thrown around...since I DID read it, and to your point, we're all extremely active members of the NYTA community. |

I hate seeing one giant list at like 6pt font. Additionally, if I'm an NYC visitor, I'm just going to see a massive list, and not know what any one spot is like. At least if the main events have a separate thread, you'll be able to see peoples responses to both the venue AND artist. |

I agree, this site is used for many reason's and for promoters like us we use this site to gauge on how an event is looking by the amount of view's there are and also by the amount of responses there are in the thread. It's not just by how many tickets are sold (because we know us New Yorker's never by tickets unless its an event that we really wanna see and know its gonna be slammed) or how many people are rsvp'ing on facebook and emailing for the guestlist. I don't understand why we can't do what the Toronto forum does with a sub-forum of the parties because this thread in here that is the "PARTY PLANNER: Upcoming Events and Parties" thread is a total joke, no one is gonna want to sift through pages and pages of responses. Granted yes its on the first page but to me it would seem alot easier if a sub-forum was created for people to respond and see whats coming up. Not everyone is going to know about that unless there a TA member and I hate to say it, non-TA kid's look at this page to see what parties are coming up. But hey thats just my 2 cents of rambling on :D |
