This is going down in my top 3 guv mainroom parties of all time. It was an almost perfect night!!
Squillace played really well, can never get enough of the guy. His style is love or hate type IMO. He certainly had me bumping around.
First time actually giving Fanciulli a proper listen and have to say he blew my expecations out of the water - proper music there. Will def want to check him out in the future again!!
The sound was the best I've heard it in a LONG LONG time, what ever they did it was spot on. The lighting tech upstairs was doing a wikid job, watching him get into it is almost like watching the DJ! He really knows what hes doing!
Dubfire played the best set I've heard him spin, dunno why but at Viva he only had me a few times and I never really enjoyed it but he had some serious tech and deep sounding techno going on, ing RIGHT tunage!
Had a blast at this party totally glad I made it out, music was phenomenal!
Zone was pumping!! I thought it was musically better than NYD!! |

always have to have the last word..... and considering the last time i was looking at the booth from the dancefloor Dubfire was the one getting ready to go on (since it's not like i don't know what the guy looks like u idiot). Honest mistake considering i wasn't in eye line of the stage at that point. |

He's like my little brother...
I'm proud of his lighting job...
We had a void to fill when Jayx1 left... |

If Graham said Fanciulli was good, he must have been SUPER good. That kid could win the lottery and he'd still complain about it. |
Fancuili was that good, IMO. I love Techno, especially tech house/techno with an underlying layer of proggy melody...and that is what Nic does best. Great job!
Dubfire was good too, but his set didn't blow me away....lacked flow in sections...
Wasn't there to hear enough of Squillace to have an opinion.
Good night overall, decent crowd, lots of friends, and not too crowded. |

Fanciulli was at his best Sunday night, without a doubt. Technically he was totally on point (with the exception of a massive wreck around 6:30 when everyone was so high they didn't seem to care.) His set was just awesome. Playing totally fresh, chuggy house music that people were just eating up.
Though I enjoyed Squillace's set - he totally should have closed the night. I realize the theory of 'new comer plays early' - but this guy plays at a pace that would have worked a lot better towards the middle or end of the night. He actually dropped some really interesting melodic tech-house tracks at the end that caused some 'hands in the air' trance like moments. lol
The total randomness at the end is what made this party for me. Three headliners, going track for track to close a night out is something you just don't see very often (if ever). The flow was non-existent, but that's what made each track stand out and cause such a buzz amongst the crowd. Nic topped them all with each track he dropped. Between 6 and 7 he dropped music that was so good, all I could do was laugh my ass off in disbelief.
I don't venture out to Guv often - but this Family Day thing they've got going is definitely a night I'd consider if they keep to this type of line-up.
p.s. - holy dancefloor reunion with a lot of old faces
p.p.s. - gong show with a capitol GO. |

i 100% agree. His set was quite a bit harder than Fanciulli's when he first came on after him. Probably one of the main reasons why the flow of the music took a way more mellow turn for a while...and caused my "music buzz kill" from 1-2. Def. would make a great closing Dj. Next time he's here though, he better be headlining! |
