I agree with those saying its one of the best main room nights (at least out of the ones I've been to). Wouldn't change a thing.

The last 2 hours were B2B2B and absolutely amazing!

i 100% agree. His set was quite a bit harder than Fanciulli's when he first came on after him. Probably one of the main reasons why the flow of the music took a way more mellow turn for a while...and caused my "music buzz kill" from 1-2. Def. would make a great closing Dj. Next time he's here though, he better be headlining!

well dub was supposed to go on at 1... perhaps that killed ur buzz from squillace to nic. cuz davide was setting up dubfire. also, patrons who were not in the loop on dubfire's situation may have been wondering what was going on with nic playing when the time slot said it was supposed to be dubfire.

Though I enjoyed Squillace's set - he totally should have closed the night. I realize the theory of 'new comer plays early' - but this guy plays at a pace that would have worked a lot better towards the middle or end of the night. He actually dropped some really interesting melodic tech-house tracks at the end that caused some 'hands in the air' trance like moments. lol

ya he def would have been better closing, but since he's dubfires finding, guess hes his opener (at least we got the b2b which im sure many hoped for). as for the melodic tech, lol he was in la la land you could tell thats what he needed. he was eating it up himself haha.

The total randomness at the end is what made this party for me. Three headliners, going track for track to close a night out is something you just don't see very often (if ever). The flow was non-existent, but that's what made each track stand out and cause such a buzz amongst the crowd. Nic topped them all with each track he dropped. Between 6 and 7 he dropped music that was so good, all I could do was laugh my ass off in disbelief.

def something u dont see. they were clearly having a blast with each otehr

laughed my ass off when at 6 a.m. some sketchbag gave ali a dead glowstick and ali didn't really know what to do with it and tried to put it between the mixers and it fell in the cracks down onto the stage.

OLD SONIC CREW FOR REAL!

My two cents:

I had a blast... the music was really good.. Davide was sikk. Sooooo many quality peeps there....made my night for sure. Nothing could wipe the smile off my face. ANTICS. lol

Was it a top 5 party... can't say that. I knew what I was going into and I got what I expected.

The music didn't get my ass shakin' as much as I like at a party... Dance fest 2009 wasn't occurring. But the beats were exceptional. I do admit.

the sound system bugged me more than ever though. such a shame.

pffft. Doesn't touch that party... not even close. There are a lot of parties that put a smile on my face the whole night.... but it takes a special one to give me a smile the entire night AND blow my mind while doing!

I'm waiting for a party to top that one.... Sasha came VERY close.

i was worried beforehand i might be overestimating how good it would be.. but turned out to be an amazing night

squillace was one hell of an opener, rarely do you see guv rocking that hard to techno just a couple minutes after midnight. it was nice how fanciulli brought down the pace a little bit, then dubfire came in full strength with the dahkness... and the b2b2b was just insanity and fun to watch. i wish the last 30 mins were a little harder, but in the end i still felt overwhelmed by techy goodness... only complaint sound wise was it seemed the mids were kind of muffled.

the crowd was the best ive seen at guv for some time, not much pushing, everyone was friendly and having a great time. nice running into and meeting new TAs (even if one of you introduced yourself twice within a couple minutes HAHA :P)

not sure if any guv parties will outdo this one in 2009... it set the bar pretty high
