wow. Fisrt off Peter, you will be a great father so long as you have the patience and time and resources to bring a life into this world. Those three factors should be your guidelines as to whether or not to have children, so long as your wife is in the same position.
Personally I can't wait to have kids. I know I would be great father, I enjoy being around kids and teenagers alike and quite frankly would love to pass on my life experiences and knowledge to a child.
I have been thinking about the issue as most late 20's early 30's people do and I have the monetary resources and patience. Now I just have to find a woman that would let me, lol.
I see all kinds of guys at work, and their pride and joy in life is their families, its all they talk about. So I'm almost at the point where I'm really starting to feel like I'm really missing out on something really special. But I also know that it will happen when the time is right. I'm not going to try and put a chronological time on it because that will simply put unneeded stress on my life.
Anyways thats my two pennies on the topic. |

My advice, having 3 kids myself, is to not wait too long to have kids. Keep in mind that you are going to have NO LIFE of your own for about 5 years. I think that time (infant time) was the hardest, so you need to be a little bit younger when you get started. After 10 years, they have their own friends and interests and you can have your own interests again....but teenagers DO suck, be prepared if you're going to do this. I'm enjoing that idea that my kids will be out of the house by the time I'm 50's so I can go back to my former selfish self. There is a reason why older people are so damn grumpy :haha:
Kids are an emotional rollercoaster, one day they are the best thing that ever happened to you, the next day you can't believe you were stupid enough to do this. Kids will put a marriage to the test, any flaws in the relationship will become MAJOR issues when children are brought into the mix. Things get downright surreal when you have sleep depravation.
A good "parent" test is a very young puppy, very needy, very noisey. If you crack under the pressure, of being up all night long with a puppy, you may want to consider being the "Cool Aunt or Uncle".
...and DO NOT EVER fall for the idea that having a kid will save the relationship |

I'm not opposed to adopting. If anything I think I may adopt. |
why would you adopt if you're healthy and can have kids? |

Pregnancy does not look appealing to me in any way, shape or form. And I also think of the career aspect of it.
Again, I'm not completely ruling out having my own kids. But I think I would adopt if I did decide to have kids. There are plenty of children out there who need a home, and I would feel good about being able to help one of them. |

1. hemorrhoids
2. C-section (much like a samurai sepaku)
3. swollen feet
4. back problems
5. stretch marks and vericose veins
6. a larger nose (yes, ladies that really does happen to some)
7. ...and some stuff to horrible to talk about |
