Kids ? (pg. 3)

nope.
apart from your typical overpopulation/world is totally messed up reasons, i've never really seen them in my future. i don't want that amount of responsibility, nor do i want to be pregnant for 9 months, go through excruciating labour (i think it was the video in grade 11 biology that freaked me out), then have to take care/worry about the child for the rest of its life, not to mention the expense involved. i also worry that i'd be a crap parent or that i'd end up with some little monster. i fully admit i'm also too selfish, but at least i'm honest about it. that's awesome that other people want children and i like my friend's children and my neices and nephews --- i'm not some child-hating monster. ;) they're just not for me.
and you know what i really find offensive? when people find out and they say "oh, when you settle down you'll change your mind" because you can't possibly not want children in this world! :rolleyes: you never know, maybe i will, but i find it really obnoxious when people say that.
i think i'll just get a puppy instead. |

You would not have a life to enjoy if it weren't for procreation...
And the population issues are because some people have too many kids probably due to ignorance...
I will agree that having kids in you 30's is ideal...
When you have kids at an early age, I feel that you haven't experienced enough in life to pass any real knowledge on to your kids... |

normally i love kids, but dealing with 16-18yr old teens right now, they are slowly beginning to get on my nerves.
too much me me me, stupid sense of entitlement and overall cluelessness to how the real world works. so far, very few have an idea that they are responsible for their own actions |

| I plan to have lots of kids. You can get like $5000 a head for those from the sweatshops. |

that is exactly how i feel about it. My parents were absolutely amazing. At times, i was such a brat! selfish, rude, didn't follow their rules. It was only after i moved out on my own....as i think it is for most kids...that i realized that they weren't horrible people out to make my life miserable, that everything they did was for me, to make my life as good as it could be. I don't think i could ever be as good of a mom, as my mom was to me. I am still fairly selfish, and am still trying to figure out my path in life. I 100% know i'm not ready to have kids, and may never be. And i would also want to give my kids the love, devotion, and financial security etc.. that my parents gave me growing up. I am nowhere near ready to do that. I'm not even sure how i feel about bringing kids into this world, in the state that it's currently in. Especially with global warming...not knowing what the outcome will be 10+ years from now. Plus this planet is already overpopulated to begin with....aren't we doing right by NOT having kids? |

I love the idea of having kids one day. I'm not ready to now and my girl is WAY too young to consider it, but one day I do look forward to having children. I think my lifestyle right now wouldn't be right and I still have a lot of goals to come first. I would also want to make sure my life and partner were as stable as possible. I also think in todays world, you really have to prepare for a child and make sure that your going to be ready (as much as it's possible at least). I see to many people have a kid for the hell of it, or rush into to save a relationship or something. Choosing not to have a child isn't selfish, too many people DO have kids becasue THEY'RE selfish.
I also beleive that as much as everyone thinks they know what they want, thinks change over time and ESPECIALLY once you have a child. No one really knows how that will change they're outlook on life till it actaully happens... |

dealing with a teenager has to be one of the most horrible things on this planet..it makes you feel like your purpose in life was to have this selfish, self serving, egotistical creature treat you like but still expect you to jump at their every whim and demand...being the parent of a teenager is a thankless job..

everyone goes thru that phase... its like for newborns having colic !!! hell i tell you:mad: :mad:
I can tell you this, now i can respect my parents even more for all the crap they went thru raising me and enduring it... and they raised 4!!! I can barely imagine doing the same only after one. |
