Ya, I know Miami and LA and like every place with a big club has been reduced to this.
I just wanted to point out, how I've really hated Opera ever since it became Opera, but in retrospect...it really hasn't become that bad when compared to Space or Pacha or Avalon. |

| I haven't been to Opera in pretty much exactly a year from the Digweed date (last time I was there was Danny Howells), they added anything new an exciting? Improved the sound at all? |

| yeah dude..but saying any club in atlanta is better than pacha is rediculous...pacha has decent bottle prices...if you dont wanna wait on drinks you can just get a group of friends together and buy a table..simple as that...they have 5 floors!! |

| I'd like to nominate Mansion (Miami) as worst "Great Club" in existence. |

Only thing Pacha has going for it is it's open until 6, and since it's in New York, it gets bigger, better talent on a better sound system.
Definitely nice features, don't get me wrong.
But wow, if Opera had a nicer sound system and could stay open for a couple of more hours. I'd probably not even hesitate in choosing it over the big Miami/NYC clubs. |

| i agree...only problem is it doesnt..an neither does any other club in atlanta...im mean ...even my club (the mark)...we have great sound but we are limited to what we can do so that rules us out...but still...at the end of the day...you cant enjoy electronic to the fullest without good sound and light...so to me..if you dont have those 2 things...your club is worthless to me... |

Sound system is the most important thing, no doubt.
Honestly can't remember if Eleven50 had bad sound or what...but Opera definitely does. And it's why I basically hate Opera.
But sacrificing sound quality so the staff doesn't steal money from you and treat you like complete ... |

| fyi bro...bartenders steal at every club...they have been since the first bartender....there are small tricks to getting your drinks faster at nightclub..tipping well is a good start..normally tip big on your first round..and then just keep tipping a little bit every other drink...they will see that...you gotta go where the money is..just human nature...you dont have enough money? well..hate it for you..thats life...survival of the fittest...i personally prefer small intimate venues...i think CIELO is the best club in new york hands down...only one bar there though so yeah..lol...it is what it is... |

Bartenders always keep the whole $20 for a $13 drink? Charging your card multiple times even though you never bought that stuff?
Since when?
I know bartenders will rip you off with the quality of your drink...but to physically take the money without permission?
I always tip well, once I get to the bar, I never have a problem getting a drink, at any club. In New York though, you can't physically get to the bar because of the crowd of douche bags. Once you get to the bar, sure they serve you. But they physically steal your money. They don't rip you off. They actually steal from you. |

Sounds like a typical night at any super club. As I got older my tolerance for overcrowded, poorly ventilated, expensive, and rude clubs has become nonexistent. Expect the same to happen in Club Space in Miami or anywhere. It's not a NYC thing. I guess people need to be ed up to put up with that crap. Tbh, the NYC club scene died when Twilo became Spirit, Limelight became Avalon, and Sound Factory became Pacha in the early 2000s. |
i'm on the same boat. i only go out to events 2-4 times a year the past couple years because of that. i never did like eleven50 nor do i like opera (although the setup is a little better now). it didn't use to be like this until our little "scene" became miscible with the club scene and you began having to deal with problems like those discussed in this thread. you have your crowd who's there just to be out or meet someone, then you have the people who are really there for the music/experience. too many type "A" people the past several years so now i'll only go out if it's really worth while, ie: i'll deal with opera to see RITM live. either that or i'm just a lame ass now, which could very well be the case |
