We Actually Have It Pretty Nice (pg. 3)

trancension, are you saying that in NYC if the bartender tells you your drink is 13, and you give them a 20, they won't return your change? If so, that's crazy! Tell me it's not like that at Opera. I'll have to roll in there with a decent money roll = all 1's.

Don't get me wrong, I've always been a good tipper because I've spent lots of time working in the service industry. But I would want to eliminate any collateral expense for procuring a beverage.

Honestly can't remember if Eleven50 had bad sound or what...but Opera definitely does. And it's why I basically hate Opera.

But sacrificing sound quality so the staff doesn't steal money from you and treat you like complete ...

Eleven50 was weak it was so high pitched like bass on zee minimal.

The talk of tipping bartenders got me thinking. I'm all for helping people out, but does quickly taking the bottle cap off a beer and handing it to you really merit a big tip? Or how about pouring a shot? They're already overcharging for the drinks, so why give them even more money? If they are really nice and friendly, then yeah, it's nice to give them something a little extra. I've worked in food service where I made sandwiches doing a lot of special orders for people and never once got a tip. I just don't understand over tipping someone for pouring a drink.

dollar minimum unless they're awesome. If you don't do that, then they won't serve you.

I only club on sequestered grassy knolls partitioned deep underground and shrouded in subterfuge. Deep beats and intimate fallacy mingling with my inner will'o'wisps. Burial chants and three drink minimums while people move mellifluously in tribal two-steps.

This is my clubbing experience.

Spatial.

Late-term abortion techno.

These words best describe the staccato whirring hums laden in draconian time sigatures. Our musk built up like mildew, our breathing noticably sound and fervent. Feverish fingers tracing lines along the pine finish and our lacquer teeth chattering.

Butting techno with mothering columns, gargoyles, and chiaroscuro shading.

They won't serve you? Lol That's ridiculous. What are they going to do, just look at you standing there? If so, then they don't deserve a job, much less a tip. It's like they take advantage of people in a club environment like that. They can be as rude as they want to you, and then you have to give them a tip just so you can be served. Lol.

unfortunately, i think that if you don't throw the bartender at least a bone, you might have to wait a while for your next drink. they'll make their rounds before they come back to you.

i think someone else mentioned this already, but i try to tip big in the beginning also, to avoid being frozen out by the bartender.

but not excessively big, a dollar per beer, maybe a couple of bucks on a cocktail. that way you figure you'll get a good pour on the next one.

buy one water to wash down some pills with. boom, money saved and tipping politics gone

j/k of course, i would never condone such behavior :o
