The issue with dj competitions like this is that egos get shattered really easily and people get mad (yelling, swearing, broken windows...), even when the results are really close.
I have attended a lot of the club246 dj competitions in the past, and the people that seem to do best are mostly the ones with good attitudes. I remember one guy that came in with a great attitude who lost in the first round, took some advice on what he did wrong, worked on his stuff at home, and then came back. He lost again, did the same thing, and won the round (on the third try)!
The real thing about the competition is, it's not if you win or lose, it's how you play the game. Meet lots of people, be yourself, have a good time, and you'll get gigs from the contacts you meet. Easy peasy. |

No, the problem with dj contests is usually that the ppl who enter haven't bothered coming up with their own programming and instead mimic their fave DJs and just copy their tracklists. Nobody wants to hear played out tracks mixed poorly.
To Sirus:
Get used to ppl not pronouncing/spelling your name correctly. Cirus/Cyrus/Psyrus/Sirius/Serious/sirous are likely outcomes.
However, perhaps SirCuss / Circus would be more appropriate given this whole thread. :) |

so you think a hard trance dj to a minimal dj is a good comparison?
I'm not talking about emulating other DJs but just the aspect of different worlds altogether. |
