Like before every artist I see, I give all there most recent CDs and live sets that I have or can find a good listen. Everything I give a listen is solid. This has been especially true for Tiesto and PvD; however, for whatever reason when I go to see them, it's seem to be an off day for them. I honestly think it has something to do with Atlanta...they're just not that excited to be here or something. I'm not sure what's up.

I know Armin, Ferry and Markus are always on though. It's not a matter of them being excited because they are always ing excited it seems like. Much like their live sets you can find online wherever, when they come to Atlanta, they keep bringing it. Cannot say the same for Tiesto and PvD. Legends they may be...their Atlanta sets seem to be lacking a lot the last few times.

Just my opinion. I don't mean to discourage anyone else from going.

Just wanted to let it be known that this will not be an event I'm looking forward to.

Well at least he is bringing the cube, and not any live laptop symphony shenanigans.

Well now that he's part of m_nus he's going to play a more minimal version of it. This means that no, he won't play it.

Doesn't get much more minus.

I read that as Shoe-nanigans and then thought about opening up a shoe store and having a massive shoe sale and calling it the Bi-annual Shoe-nanigans and --

sigh.......

This is mostly true, but there were times when both tiesto and pvd both blew up Atlanta like none other. Better than a good day type sets. Tiesto @ Riviera 2002, Tiesto @ 1150 2003, PVD @ 1150 2003 (was his first time in Atlanta in 3 years and he basically said he missed the place).

One things for sure, if you know a set is going to be broadcast live then you know they are gonna be on their A game. PVD @ Space is once again going to be broadcast live this WMC.

edit: pauls set at the tabby in 2007 was fantastic, he played the instrumental of new york as it was not a finished track yet.

ever since he dropped that New York track of garbage I lost interest should have him at the tabby again most likely will not be going.

I mean, I'm not going to go as far as to say they don't want to be here, but Tiesto and PVD haven't seemed as great as in other places. I mean Tiesto's set a couple years ago was not only cut short, but it just didn't wow me. It amazes me that he is still among the top djs. Armin, Ferry, and Markus, as mentioned, always come here with a smile on their face and really bring it. I realize not everyone on here enjoys their style, but if you do, they are the best. PVD's set at the Tabernacle was great, but last years just didn't go anywhere. Hopefully he does bring it this year and plays with the same enthusiasm as he does when he is somewhere like Space during WMC. I know he has the ability to be great.

Tiesto/PvD in '03 was definitely epic. Two of my very first trance sets I ever attended. Helped pull me into the lifestyle I lead now :p

But sadly...I do go as far as to say they don't enjoy coming to Atlanta. At least that's the impression I've gotten as of late. Maybe I just go into the shows expecting more out of them, and my expectations lead to the let down.
