ehh, i dunno. He played Beautiful things at space for wmc. I used to be a big fan of those two since they were gabriel and dresden productions.

What I really want to hear is a track that is going to be released tomorrow PVD- Forbidden Fruit (Giuseppe Ottaviani Remix). I heard it on his latest galaxy set and it was awesome

AMEN!!! Unprepared is an awesome track. I love how Gareth Emery dropped it ASOT 400 @ Butan... in between Lonely Girl and Audible- White Mouse. Bad ass.

And for who ever asked if PVD will be on the floor or booth... I am 100% he will be in the booth. AVB, Ferry, Markus and Rank 1 have all been in the booth. ATB and A&B were on the floor but I think that the exposure of ATB is not what it once was and A&B unfortunately they have not received as much as they deserve. (I am a HUGE A&B fan and I was very disappointed that they were on the floor since I purposely got VIP to be right next to them. :( )

I should be there by 11pm. If anyone wants to meet I am totally down. I usually go on the patio 1st. Although was quit disappointed that at ATB the patio was closed along with the room in the back. I felt so confined.

speaking of SVD....anyone heard his essential mix? pretty good!

whoa, when was a&b here

Above & Beyond (without Tony) was here February 12. Paavo and Jono delivered an awesome set, and I also got VIP for the same reason as clearblu. At the end of the day, I'm glad they were on the stage. I'd bet it's no coincidence that A&B and ATB both had some great audience interaction, and both performances were so close to the dance floor.

They'll probably open the patio tonight. Last time the PVD show was so packed that you couldn't move at all in the main room, so I heard most of his (sadly abbreviated) set out on the patio.

I like the stage a lot. When they're up in the booth it just never is as exciting. ATB and A&B were two of the better shows I've been to. Loved the crowd interaction. I know PVD is probably too "big" and I wouldn't be surprised if he'd be the type not to want to be down there. I only bought VIP once, last year for Markus, and it really didn't make a difference as he came down to the stage afterwards to shake hands anyways.

Anyways, this is the first time I'll be missing PVD in the past few years. Wish I could go to check it out, but I'm not really upset about it. He's hit or miss to me now. Everyone have fun tonight!

I usually don't post reviews on here because I think it all depends on who you are, what you like, and the kind of night you had. HOWEVER... it is 4:30am and I feel inclined to say that PVD killed it. After last year's review, I was skeptical. But... PVD is still the man. A lot of you thought that ATB was good last Thursday. I agree that he is what I expected, but Paul Van Dyk always seems to exceed my expectations. Nice guy too... :tongue3 :tongue2  :gsmile: :tongue2  :tongue3 :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop:

The only thing missing from Markus' set in my opinion was being on the stage.

I agree, I tell it like it is and when paul sucks, I dont hold back. Last night was amazing, we had an FLTA here and I think he agreed. Paul didnt slow it down once. 2 hours 45mins of Pure PVD. 3 tracks in was an amazing ID, really hard banging tune. Also, did they upgrade their sound at Opera recently because I have heard many reviews complaining of it being the old sound system from 1150, I can say what I heard last night was definitely not the same sound from 1150, much better.

After having a really horrible day at work and not even knowing if I would be able to make it down, Paul did exactly what I needed to hear to put a smile on my face. And he played PVD - Forbidden Fruit (Giuseppe Ottaviani Remix)...... woot

Thanks to all involved in last night ;) see everyone back out for Sasha and Digweed in a couple weeks
coroknight
I was there last night and I honestly can't really comment on PVD's set because I couldn't hear most of it. The sound system sounds overdriven, the bass is overpowering, and I think things would sound so much better if they just turned the volume down a bit. I could not hear any melodies, and the vocals sounded like screeching. During some songs I saw people put their hands over their ears because the sound was like nails on a chalkboard.

Since I could only hear the bass I got bored really quick and ended up checking my watch ever couple minutes until around 2am when me and my friends left.

PVD seemed like he was doing a pretty good job though. I also really liked the camera view so we could see what he was doing.

But anyways, I think Opera is going to loose customers over this sound system thing. When you go to a club the first time everything is new and cool. But after a while you just want to hear the music, and I think the current sound system will deter long time customers.

But as always thanks again to Liquified and Devin for consistently bringing out the big names to see us. I can't wait to see Sasha & Digweed!
