Because they're against birth control. If any sort of sexual activity involves a form of birth control for any reason, they're going to be against it.

Was that debated? The point was that he said that using condoms SPREADS AIDS.
That's not exactly what he said, Ben. The argument he is/was advancing was that the use of condoms creates a false sense of security, which in turn creates an environment of increased sexual permissiveness, which results in more people having sex with more partners, which increases the potential HIV transmission. He's right.

I understand the whole "don't have sex" mantra that they are preaching, but in the face of either sex with or without condoms, they still preach the same mantra. It is just whack.
I think it's somewhat unfair to think that the church - which claims to be the moral authority - to condone moral relativism.

They call it "natural family planning" now. I recall Mrs. Hazard and my pre-marital classes... there was a presentation on "natural family planning" by a couple who practice it. They went on and on about how reliable it is and how it brings a couple closer, blah, blah, blah... then someone asked how many kids they have... "seven; ages 2-10"... you could almost hear everyone in the room thinking " dat !"
