| I'm baffled by how many of you are getting upset at people who are against gay couples "having" kids. It's a travesty. How do you explain to a 5 year-old why he has 2 dads? Seriously...give me an exact quote of what YOU would say if you were in that situation. Any child raised with 2 gay parents will be horrendously ed up. |

Did YOUR parents set you down when you were 5 and have the "heterosexual talk" with you?
I'll bet they actually did, considering you. :p
But most people do not need to be given "the hard truth" at some point - sexuality is an utterly natural thing, no matter how it manifests itself. Neither parents nor parenting determine the sexual orientation of their children. If this were true, heterosexual parents would not have homosexual children. But they do. Otherwise there wouldn't be any homosexuals. |

maybe gay marriage is indeed a step too far, but maybe it's not. Honestly, If I were a homosexual man (married) and adopted a son or daughter:
"Dear, some men and women were born different than most parents. Consider yourself lucky because you will have a different experience than your peers, we will teach you how to think for yourself and make opinions based on what feels right for you, we will steer you away from dogma and "biased material" that is prevalent in today's high school system. We will teach you how to respect the "rights" of others and to live a life which is founded on ethics and principles, not dogma nor doctrine; we will accept your decision to be different than us, we will encourage you to learn how to love a 'person' (regardless of gender)
