You've only been here since december 08 and you think you know what I listen to? Laughable. I despise unicorn trance.

Sorry to break it for you but I honestly felt that these tracks are neither original or even a bit interesting. If you love them good for you. But I don't.

besides. I got nothing against deep house. In fact I love stuff from Hiroshi Watanabe, Minilogue, Jori Hulkkonen etc.

What a great guy.

Yah? I guess im listening to it at a different resolution, and I see the nuances in each individual track. They might sound similar, but they are each different through nuance and arrangement, and I think that is as important as making tracks that are vastly different to eachother.

Maybe If I skimmed through the album, it would all sound the same, but if you actually listen to the individual tracks, there is plenty to enjoy here. And if he did a basket of tracks that sound different, then the next gripe would be, "buh buh buh its all over the place, there is no direction." Which is why reviews are ridiculous here and at websites like RA. Much of the opinions are politics and bias based, more than anything, and when that happens objectivity is thrown out the window. Recently, some here liked a very repetitive album, and actually made it out to be something great. I'm not saying this album is brilliant, at all, but it is above average to any producer or at a club, i'd imagine. At a "skimming" resolution I acknowledge it might be average, but I don't think that is Stimming's fault, if the listener isn't actually listening to the music.

I only sampled it but I noticed that the first 4 or 5 tracks in the link I gave sounded pretty much the same. Its really hard for EDM guys to do an artist album and not fall into this trap.

I still don't see how you could throw "i fell asleep" at it.

How is that boring? I think its a great dynamic piece of music. It has thought, even though it maintains the poise and wisdom of a tribe leader, it manages to go places.

I just can't get into this album, tried it out last night and I just got bored. I like a lot of Stimming's stuff though, just not a lot of this.

Why do you feel the need to defend your taste in music so much? Other people can find it boring. I find it boring, and i paid for this and own many other Stimming Eps (which i do like a lot). I thought this was a waste of money, and i am allowed to.:) Completely disposable stuff, and i say this as a person that really really wanted to like it.(or i wouldn't have bought it would I?;) )

No need to argue about repetition, people. This album is full of it, especially Song For Isabelle.

I love it regardless mostly because of the technical depth of each groove and production quality. Thumps so hard! :eyespop:

It's a decent track, but I can see how a whole album of that kind of stuff would eventually bore.

It's simple. I find this boring just the same way as I find James Holden's recent stuff boring. I find it uninspiring. But hey that's my subjective opinion.

Yawn. There's a loooot better techno out there.

I just enjoy well made, well thought out music, and this is a good example of it. Musically it might not be the most versatile or wide ranging as a whole, but that doesn't stop it from being a good album. I think he shows his versatility at a individual track level, as shown in Song for Isabelle. "Repetetive" is a rather poor gripe, and now that I think of it I dont know why i'm even defending it, because even if repetetive if the listener enjoys the music, then that means the album is filled with good music for them.

For a first album, I think Stimming, and Solomun's Diynamic did well.
