i just realized on my own what a crock of religion is the older and wiser i got lol just watching my mom and her bull going to church every sunday and not being a real catholic annoyed me. all of the money and judgment & hypocrisy in religion (more specifically catholicism) really bothers me. and also reading/watching lots of evolution/science related shows on history and discovery channel and in books, etc... it made me come to the conclusion that i'm not a believer in the bible stories and organized religion in general.
my favorite story is the "faith based" lawfirm my mom worked at for 6 years with all the piece of lawyers who are heavily involved in the calvary chapple and one of the senior partners cheating on his wife with his secretary who happens to be my best friend's baby mamma:stongue: we busted them at a restaurant...it was so funny.
but yea all those phony christians annoy the crap out of me and like 80% of them are. cheating and lying every day and leading double lives and showing up to church w/ the family every week with a smile. makes me sick. |

Because after examining my thoughts on religion for a while, I found I didn't have any good reason to believe. I believed because I wanted to feel good and avoid the fear of hell. The fact that a belief makes you feel content or safe doesn't mean it's true. |

That I understand.
Catholicism is the one religion that grinds my gears. I had a lot of not-so-good experiences with Catholics. I hate how they demand you give them money. And when I question their thoughts, they get all pissed off instead of answering me. And I can't stand a priest who tries to f-ing preach about families and children and marriages and what you should do - but has none himself! |

| Oh, I also think that as I've gotten older I've grown more of an appreciation for what my family went through. I've been learning a lot more about what the concentration camps were like and how it was living in the post-world era and getting here to the states... I think it's tugging at my religious strings with that, too. |

I am not a fan of religion, but this is one thing I commend the Mormon church for. People pay their tithing, but NO ONE but the people that are above the regional level in "management" are paid by the church. All the Bishops (the "pastor") Stake Presidents (the regional "pastor" that oversees all the "wards" (aka the congregations of each bishop)) and I think even the one just above that (can't remember the name lol) are all doing this as a service to god. |

| Well I didn't really know that those people got paid in the church? I meant when they hand around the collection plates and stare at you like GIVE ME MONEY. |

In almost every other church everyone for the most part gets paid. Mormons don't believe in this.
And yeah, the collection plate is ing dumb. Another thing Mormons do right. You pay your tithing and hand it to the bishop, or one of his counselors (there are only 3, so not like there are 100 or something). |

| I don't understand that. If you're struggling to put food on your table, you're supposed to give up your money to the church? Wtf is with that? |

Well, to be fair, the Mormon church has a thing they call the "Bishop's Store House" that they can provide food for the needy as necessary. And being that I have been through all this being a poor motherfucker as a kid. |
